I share your concern about sports travel, and the academic pressure it puts on athletes. I am only stating that in the case of BC in the ACC the addition of Cal, Stanford, and SMU are not an incremental travel burden compared to some other ACC schools.

As you point out the issue is TIME away from campus, classes, etc. The focus regarding travel is time, and risk of travel disruption. For BC travel to these new member schools will be shorter or at minimum easier than some other ACC schools. Have you ever travelled to South Bend, Blacksburg, Clemson?
Travel from BOS-SFO or BOS-DFW is easier, cheaper, certainly more predictable, and has some time zone advantages compared to connecting (an entire team) via an RJ to a regional airport or driving 2-4 hours after landing at a major airport.
Most people seem to understand this.
Glad to hear your concern about time away from classes/labs because that’s the primary reason players from BC are at the college. That being said we will continue to disagree about the 6 hour flights and 3 times zones and the effect that it has on their bodies to make that transition over and over. Yes, I have been to VTech, Notre Dame and Clemson and that’s a piece of cake as compared to the wear and tear on these kids bodies both mentally and physically over the course of a season. Not even close to being similar. Most experienced travelers seem to understand the difference.

Over and over? These will not be back and forth trips. They will be planned for optimum use on both coasts. No one will play immediately. I guess your kids did not go out to Seattle or CA or AZ for soccer games. They were fine.

Tell me. You never stopped wearing a mask did you?

Dumb question how many times do you think bc is going to fly to CA or TX a season? Not to mention BC went to CA this season and also the Midwest.
Unless they add more conference games to the schedule they play 10 conference games. I think there’s 17 colleges now in the ACC so there’s a chance BC won’t even have to travel out west during the season. If they do probably would be Columbus Day weekend? They have a Thursday night game vs ND in October. Is that to far for the students?

So anyone that thinks these school are going to be traveling coast to coast every weekend you can relax they aren’t going to. Or at worst maybe 2 times a season which would probably mean Saturday games?
It is nice you are concerned with the players well being. Just a question are you concerned with their welling being before college when these players are traveling all over the place? Some times missing school for tournaments.

Exactly. As another poster mentioned too, many players and parents have been taking trips all over, including coast to coast, during their middle and high school year missing labs and such. Some took international trips too during school sessions.

          Oh the horrors.

BC doesn't travel well. Tonight, they went to the Quonset Hut and couldn't beat Dartmouth.

They have one more win (maybe) against SH. Or for a stretch 2 ( Louisville) Yet, another 3-12-4 season is a fair prediction. 1-9 in the ACC if they can beat Louisville.

                  Unfortunately, you are 100% correct.

BC eeks out a 3-2 win over Sacred Heart. Now for a steady diet of ACC teams.

BC gets very good kids. But they need to get one or two difference makers and that seems to elude them.

The last coach collected diva forwards. Great for scoring goals but poison in the locker room.

This is a good way to put it. If they had one or two game changers they could be good. The foundation is there. They just need some true alphas.
