honestly, you don't go shopping, maybe eat out, have just a couple friends that are in your bubble? you don't do ANY of that?

Unless you can say yes, you and your entire household follow ALL the guidance everyday, you are just being a hypocrite claiming that where you draw the line of adherence is acceptable but our line of adherence is selfish

Perhaps posters are unaware that their goals can be achieved and still participate in the economy, in soccer and never leave their state as they comply with requests to limit travel.

Our ecnl club plays games with refs and coaches and provides the video to all the families. This is being sent out by players and recruiting is taking place virtually.

This employs the club staff and refs. Allows for recruiting and the players do not need to travel out of state. This is entirely possible and solves lots of issues.

playing soccer does not equal killing seniors that is how f-ed up you are. If kids are playing soccer outside and likely don't have the virus or are not symptomatic there is no spread. If someone gets covid at a grocery store and spreads it to you and you go and visit your grandma and give it to her that's on you. keep your seniors off the pitch and stop your whining.

Can you read? Play soccer. Just do it in your state and keep your darn covid home where it belongs and other states will do the same.

I certainly don't have the answer, but many pages back, poster shared models that projected US deaths between 200K and 1.7M. Given that ranges, 300K seems like a pretty good outcome, no?

Again, this is not to say Covid should or shouldn't be respected. I think it must be respected. But a psoter invoked "300 Thousand dead" without any context. My PoV is that I am pleased the number is ONLY 300K considering the projections of 2%+ morbidity we feared in March.

The 300k number is too clouded to asses. Clearly the 300k is at the best somewhat overinflated compared to the method the standard common cold, flu and pneumonia are classified for death. Never mind all the elderly or at risk people denied or made too afraid to get medical service during shutdown.

Based how common cold and flu deaths have been previously assessed by the CDC, the 300K number is likely very UNDERinflated.

Yes, obviously that is a problem. They face risk not getting medical services, and they face risk showing up for care. That's part of why it's not a complete solution to simply wait it out until this is all over.

Problem is you know many won't follow the rules, and there won't be any consequences either. There was a story on the news this morning of two American parents crying about their college aged daughter who was arrested for violating the quarantine rules in Grand Cayman (was supposed to stay put for 14 days but took off her government issued monitor and went out after two days). Now she's going to jail. Extreme yes of course, but the tiny island nation has no cases either. Many other countries have mandated quarantines. If people got busted for not following the rules more might actually obey them. Clearly there's a segment of Americans who can't be expected to do the right thing.

Clearly only you can make intelligent responsible decisions. Everyone else should be sent to jail until you think our responsibility can be tempered and managed by the nanny state. Thank goodness you’re here to guide us. Which jail should I report to meine furer?
