yea, that was always built into the model. US has more obesity, and therefore more risk, and higher projections. Did you read the article? Based on the projections from March of globally renowned scientists, including Fauci, the US is doing way better than projected.

You're data is outdated. US is 13th as per Hopkins as of today.



Also to consider, are all countries cataloging things the same way? note that 3rd world countries are absent from these lists. Are you suggesting 3rd world countries did a better job fighting this virus, say Uganda for example who's Healthcare System is ranked nearly last by The Who? or may you consider that they didn't test and log as other countries did, or perhaps another variable such as climate/temperature is in play. Discrepancies abound among developed nations as well. Countries that have socialized medicine do not create inadvertent incentives for for-profit hospitals with per case payments. I am not suggesting the virus is a hoax, but we are not talking apples to apples here.

Your statement goes both ways. What science should we listen to?
the political science that exclaims Cases are Skyrocketing, and Kids are Super-Spreaders
or the data-backed science. There is no shortage of data showing outdoor transmission is nearly non-existent, that youth sports haven't been identified as risky, that clusters associated with sports teams have not emerged as anything significant, and that plane travel is safer than going to the grocery store.

Now, if I act like a jackass and drive 75 miles to a beachside bar (the equivalent of driving across two state into ME if I were in Boston) with all the other parents on our team so we can spend the night drinking and singing Only the Good Die Young, then yeah, I am selfish and irresponsible. Otherwise, please show me the science that says anything about flying to play soccer, and wearing masks responsibly on the sidelines and in the lobby introduces risk beyond that which we already accept in our everyday lives right here at home.

There is no good excuse for our poor response. The first stimulus was 3 TRILLION dollars and we wasted it. It was not even accompanied by a coordinated strategy to defeat the virus. We are at square one.

Many many other counties are in a better position having sacrificed less. We sucked.

Picking an choosing which science you subscribe to based on what science is convenient and advantages to you personally is weak. Either you believe that the rigors of science research and the truths it uncovers can provide some guidance and answers or you don't.

This is not picking and choosing. They are completely different scenarios. One, soccer tournaments, is scientifically observed to be safe. The other is the source of numerous spreader events across the country.
