It NEVER needed to be this bad. Look at Asia where all this supposedly started. China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, etc. are all pretty normal with few cases now because they did what was needed. They had experience with SARS and H1N1 to take things seriously. US and Europe are too politically divided and unequal to deal with it.

While we do need a more I inclusive system but there’s a reason Canadians come to the US for specialists and not the other way around, and a reason why those specialists excel. This is not a binary discussion. It’s also not a soccer discussion but oh well.

As far approvals go, the CDC and FDA don’t need Trump’s blessing to do emergency drug authorizations. That’s within the powers assigned to them in law by Congress and not the first time in history drugs have been rushed to market. Trump and his supporters must have skipped the 5th grade class where you learn about the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of our government because he (and they ) like to think he ran things like some sort of dictator. The US government doesn’t need Trump or his band of misfits to operate. And thank god they don’t or he’d be selling those vaccine vials to the highest bidder!

They step in when there is a need, especially since Covid threatens their businesses too with people putting off treatment, can’t afford drugs being out of work, their employees getting sick, etc. For some like Moderna that have never made a product, this is their time to shine and there is plenty of private money being thrown at them to do it now. Go read how Moderna, etc. had gene sequenced the Covid virus from information that China provided back in January BEFORE Trump had done a single thing about Covid other than calling it a hoax.

Back to your basement and wait for the vaccine ....for a virus that has a 99.8% recovery rate. Also don't read the CNN news....new strain in UK!!!!! Oh my, lets hide out again. Pussy

Mexico did not cut a check but the re-work of NAFTA and the need for asylum seekers to seek in the first country they cross rather than traveling through several countries to reach America is an effective ‘payment’.
The Lincoln comment is pure hyperbole as are many of Trumps statements, but he did good things for minorities in legal reform, opportunity zones, job creation, among others.
Trump did nothing to bring people together but blaming him for the separation is not accurate. Obama’s administration created a divide that made Trump’s election possible. Hilary’s ‘deplorables’ comment came before Trumps election. The comments about Republican’s from Democratic pols and voters have been highly charged. As the saying goes: if you do not learn from history you will be doomed to repeat it. If you do not want to see Trump 2024, then force our politicians to stop the identity politics that made Trumps first term possible.

I’m sure there are other stats you can present. You can pick and choose which numbers to review, but to claim the US is an outlier is not accurate.

If not, then you just proved that in your mind everything bad is all his fault - cuz, you know he's president, i stops with him - and everything good is due to someone else - cuz you know the president doesn’t actually do that
