I'm sure the OP would prefer his mother was being treated for cancer in New Zealand than here in America. In NZ she'd only have to worry about getting through her treatment. Here she has to worry about costs, treatment AND Covid killing her before cancer does.

China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, etc. are all pretty normal with few cases now because they did what was needed. They had experience with SARS and H1N1 to take things seriously. US and Europe are too politically divided and unequal to deal with it.
You need to update your reference points

Google “Europe coronavirus” and “japan coronavirus”

Feel free to share the results of those searches.

Is New Zealand known for their exceptional medical care? I think I’d prefer to use a world renown hospital in Boston.
While we do need a more I inclusive system but there’s a reason Canadians come to the US for specialists and not the other way around, and a reason why those specialists excel. This is not a binary discussion. It’s also not a soccer discussion but oh well.

Now who’s being thick? Pfizer and other companies didn’t need an incentive to bring vaccines to market. They step in when there is a need, especially since Covid threatens their businesses too with people putting off treatment, can’t afford drugs being out of work, their employees getting sick, etc. For some like Moderna that have never made a product, this is their time to shine and there is plenty of private money being thrown at them to do it now. Go read how Moderna, etc. had gene sequenced the Covid virus from information that China provided back in January BEFORE Trump had done a single thing about Covid other than calling it a hoax.

As far approvals go, the CDC and FDA don’t need Trump’s blessing to do emergency drug authorizations. That’s within the powers assigned to them in law by Congress and not the first time in history drugs have been rushed to market. Trump and his supporters must have skipped the 5th grade class where you learn about the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of our government because he (and they ) like to think he ran things like some sort of dictator. The US government doesn’t need Trump or his band of misfits to operate. And thank god they don’t or he’d be selling those vaccine vials to the highest bidder!

You should try leaving the US now and then. Many other nations have excellent on par healthcare, with the bonus that you won't go broke getting it and can't lose it either. Before ACA came along a cancer patient could have been dropped from the health insurance plan, if they even had one, and their history of having cancer would have kept them off other plans for years following.

Yes cases are going up in other northern climate countries, but not nearly as fast and with far fewer cases per capita than the US

So for the bad things its all on Trump, and for the good things you focus on the separation of powers, and the importance of distributed accountability. I have that right?

Fewer cases per capita in other countries cuz they have fewer fatties per capita.

Much better medical terminology out there, but 4 out of 5 doctors agree

You would be hard pressed to name another president in our lifetime who made more outlandish claims and sought more credit constantly than Trump. From border walls that never were built or paid for by Mexico to being the best president for blacks since Lincoln, he probably accomplished nothing that will be long-term good for the country. The icing on the cake unfortunately will be his treating the Covid pandemic like a joke. Probably his greatest achievement (and harm) will be making people hate their own democracy and their fellow Americans.

I am not a hard core Trumper, I acknowledge his faults, but likewise anti-Trumpers should acknowledge good things he did.
Mexico did not cut a check but the re-work of NAFTA and the need for asylum seekers to seek in the first country they cross rather than traveling through several countries to reach America is an effective ‘payment’.
The Lincoln comment is pure hyperbole as are many of Trumps statements, but he did good things for minorities in legal reform, opportunity zones, job creation, among others.
Trump did nothing to bring people together but blaming him for the separation is not accurate. Obama’s administration created a divide that made Trump’s election possible. Hilary’s ‘deplorables’ comment came before Trumps election. The comments about Republican’s from Democratic pols and voters have been highly charged. As the saying goes: if you do not learn from history you will be doomed to repeat it. If you do not want to see Trump 2024, then force our politicians to stop the identity politics that made Trumps first term possible.

Mortality rate of the disease is higher in Italy, Spain and UK

I’m sure there are other stats you can present. You can pick and choose which numbers to review, but to claim the US is an outlier is not accurate.

I agree with you. I can not name another president more outlandish nor focused on narcissistic self-eggrandizing. I agree his presence caused more divide than unity, i could keep on going about how he was bad, that doesn't mean I am incapable of recognizing where he was good. Are you capable of that? If not, then you just proved that in your mind everything bad is all his fault - cuz, you know he's president, i stops with him - and everything good is due to someone else - cuz you know the president doesn’t actually do that

UK no is no longer part of the EU. Do Spain and Italy represent all of the EU? Your link is as useless as ranting about NY as its all totals, not more recent data. They all got slammed early in the spring.
