1. The amount of work they put into their game and overall athleticism outside of team activities.
2. Focusing on what the coach is saying instead of goofing off with friends. Paying attention to the mechanics being taught.
3. Honest & consistent effort all the time: giving 100% during their rotation instead of coasting at 80-90%. Not playing down to the opponents level. Running the field. Playing physical. Not quitting when losing by alot. Putting as much effort into a practice as a game.
4. Developing a passion for the game. Watching the pros play. Understanding the tactical & mental side of the game. Do they actually like soccer outside their specific team activities?

Yeah I agree. Look at older age groups 07, 06. The ECNL teams mean crap until they reach high school. Stars completely changed up both white and blue teams . If your daughter happens to be on ECNL now good luck next year.
