Not entirely wrong. Generally when Stars, NEFC, and SSS parents are at the center of the thread it’s more active, and they’re not crowing about a lot. You’re also seeing that Surf parents don’t come here, by the way (because you dominated them by…losing to them?).

No hate for this brag, Surf Dad, they’re a legit team and have as good a claim as any to be best in state. Shame they can’t go to better showcases but that’s club/league politics for you.

No one here will argue that they don't belong in the discussion of top MA 08 teams. Problem is that - absent the occasional tourney - they continue to be stuck in a terrible league playing terrible teams. That includes the teams in the USYS National League PRO. Impact teams? PDA's 6th best 08 team?

I'm not sure what the answer is for these girls. I have to imagine there's at least a few who are going to want to to get the exposure that GA and ECNL provide at their showcases.

I agree with most of this but I think there's some confusion with the word "exposure." The benefit of the showcases isn't so much the chance that you will be discovered by a coach who happens upon your game. Instead, the benefit lies in the fact that of the 10 schools you are interested in, 8-9 of them will be attending these ECNL/GA Showcases making it that much easier to coordinate a chance for them to watch you play. A player outside of ECNL/GA can certainly get seen and recruited, it's just more difficult.

It's a good experience so they know how it all works later on, when they're the ones in the thick of it. Usually the younger teams do fewer big events than the teams in prime recruiting age.
