They don’t have 40 on the basketball roster.
If you can’t shoot or dribble, you’re cut. Period.
Same for baseball if you can’t hit, pitch or catch.
But if you can’t trap a ball, run, pass or tackle, you can still play jv ball????
Soccer becomes the final resting place for non-athletes.
Never understood it.
They should have fall travel or town leagues so kids cut from school programs still have a place to play

And the solution is so simple. You can coach club and do clinics, but not with the same gender as your HS team. Any coach who crosses that line is unethical in my book.

Fact of the matter is this probably wasn’t what led to the giy’s Actual firing. Maybe led to it, but I’m sure with all he other club conflicts out there, it came down to the guy not being a good coach or he did something else not reported in the article. Doesn’t look like his teams at AV have had much success

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but why would the JV coach have the power to cut players? I would assume the head coach would make the call on who gets cut and who doesn't. Seems like the parents are blaming just the JV coach where the head coach should be the one to be blamed.
Most JV coaches have no power they are told by the head coach on how to develop the players to play in the varsity teams system.
I think the head coach must have thrown the JV coach under the bus. If the head coach thought the girls that were getting cut were good the coach wouldn't have allowed the JV coach to cut them.

Let's be honest, ADs around MA probably receive numerous emails a week from parents complaining about coaches and their coach being affiliated with club X. If the coach is good, the AD will push back and the coach will be kept on. It seems like in this case, the coach probably is not very good, so if his association with a club (in what seems like every role possible), causes just the slightest headache, the AD probably thought there was no reason to keep him. If he were a good coach, an anonymous email to anyone wouldn't have led to a firing.

Looks like the AD cleared him and the other coaches multiple times and then suddenly changed his mind? Unlikely. Sounds like the AD was pressured from the Super. Looking at the Super.'s history he wrote a 6 page letter complaining about his sons lack of ice time and wanting the coach fired. Super. has a soft spot for crazy?
If he was a bad coach how why would so many kids and parents be backing him?
Sounds like crazy parent pulling the strings.
