Looks like the AD cleared him and the other coaches multiple times and then suddenly changed his mind? Unlikely. Sounds like the AD was pressured from the Super. Looking at the Super.'s history he wrote a 6 page letter complaining about his sons lack of ice time and wanting the coach fired. Super. has a soft spot for crazy?

If he was a bad coach how why would so many kids and parents be backing him?

Sounds like crazy parent pulling the strings.

That doesn't solve the issue though. If a player plays for a rival club, you might be more inclined to make a negative assessment of them, thus a conflict.

What a mess Andover is.

This is about JV. Sure, JV should take a lot of kids, maybe 22, but no more, and certainly, there should be cuts. And, there's no problem with the JV coach making cuts if that's what the head coach wants.

If you don't want a history teacher coaching your soccer team, then you are stuck getting coaches with club affiliations, because how else are they going to pay their rent? On a JV coach's salary? Sure, if a player plays club, have the head coach or another coach evaluate that player, to diminish the chance of favoritism, but you have to figure club players are going to be stronger than players who don't play club at all.

In the end, schools should provide reasonable cover for coaches against allegations by hyper protective helicopter parents who are upset lil didums got cut from a team on which he failed to earn a spot.

*if you're cut from JV there's a reason for it. Maybe run cross country or take up theater.
