For '08, "its place" is where? In the top 5. IIRC both those clubs may have beaten Stars Blue.
What you're missing is that things have changed. They've caught on to the ECxL 2nd, 3rd, 4th team scams. People don't want to leave a club's top team to join a second team (Stars White) that loses all its game by multiple goals and finishes at the bottom of the table. While knowing that the team will always lose the good forwards and keepers to Blue. So if someone is jumping clubs, it's Blue or nothing.
And players aren't interested in being 6-8th on the depth chart on a 25 player roster for Blue.

Blue is the brand. Can anyone tell me of a time that White went to nationals? If that ever happened, I'm sure the blue team in that birth year got dismantled and reorganized. There would never be a back to back white playoff appearance in the same age group.
It's really easy to understand the Stars business model. White exists to support blue. White is the team to send former blues out to pasture. It's also the place to stable the occasional unicorn until the next season.
White parents need to see the writing on the wall. The reason why blue parents and players pretend you don't exist is because they know if their kid winds up on your team, their dream is over. You're existence is a worst case scenario, and also encouragement to train harder.
Blue or nothing is the only truth in Lancaster.

What you're talking about is the showcase, and yes, white has a platform for national exposure by attending and participating. Even within the showcase structure you won't find JD endorsing white team players for the National Selection Game. If a white team player gets a D1 commitment, you can bet the parents and player did all the work to make that happen, JT cares about blue only. They are the brand, every other team is the profit. As long as he keeps blue winning and keeps getting D1 comits for those players to post on social media, he'll always have 15 other teams in each age group dreaming to be on blue. JD wins, and everyone not on blue loses.

College recruiting does not go by team records.
