Those are some pretty impressive colleges. I’d be psyched if my daughter played for any of them. I also don’t think D1 is the best fit for many girls. If your kid plays GA or ECNL and then gets to play D1,2 or 3 you and your kid are very fortunate and likely have had wonderful memories.

Great job knocking a young woman going to college and playing her sport. Your own children must be so proud of you.

Maybe she didn’t have the soccer skill but wanted to play the game she loves. Maybe she couldn’t afford somewhere else. Maybe she’s in a challenging major and soccer just isn’t, gasp, the only thing important in her life.

Try this— because Fitchburg is a decent school and there’s nothing wrong with playing there, maybe don’t treat troll comments as worthy of rebuttal.

My D moved in 9th grade from a GA team to an ECNL team because she looked at the rosters of the schools she wanted to attend. There was overwhelming more ECNL representation than any other league or pathway.
This made our decision to move clubs pretty straight forward. Obviously not the only way to approach to this issue, but one that made sense to us.

My D has stayed with the GA and has continued to develop with the best coaching and teammates. We were excited to see the volume of college coaches at the most recent showcase. Lots of opportunity and excited for the future

Oh hey Last Word Larry showed up to the party again with his daily put down of GA. Hmmmm I wonder which coach this is. GA is very good and ECNL very good. But Larry with the put downs of GA. Good teams good players but lots of bad coaches and parents all over the state and this board.

Yes other than the occasional top program (pretty rare on that list) most are mid to low tier D1, D and D3 soccer programs (not commenting on academics, just soccer). Absolutely wrong wrong with that that - playing at any level is an accomplishment and if a player is at their dream school then that's all parents want. However, this is not a list of top soccer programs. There'a a place for both GAL and ECNL, but other than some top players and clubs left in GAL a good 2/3 is simply OK - that is increasingly reflected in recruiting now that early GDA adopters are graduating out
