CFC canceled Saturday games against white as well due to weather.

Has nothing to do with being scared, jfc. CFC also cancelled Stars on Saturday because of hail forecast. FSA still on Sunday. Unless you want to argue CFC and FSA are scared of Saturday games only (even though some are White and some Blue), but somehow not Sunday.

They literally already played us in December. 1-3 inches of snow at time of game and we’d have to travel home.

it's not often that the players post on the forum...but I guess they're getting older now and starting to speak for themselves

Scorpions v. PDA (Saturday) postponed for later in the spring as well because of the weather. I’m sure the driving conditions are probably as big of a concern as the field conditions.

Saw this post (on the very first page of this thread) from U10. I’m going to say it didn’t age well because almost all of the girls who were serious about it five years ago are still grinding away.

You’ve tracked all of these kids (on multiple teams) for the past 5 years? Creepy.

                        Girls on team = 18
of these, how many were “serious” = 8
of these, “almost all” if them are still grinding = 6

Who were the top teams when this thread started that parents were posting about? NEFC Central & Select, both with 13-14 players. I’ve been watching those two teams play from U11-U15 and 75%+ of those girls are still playing on the GA teams, or have moved to ECNL.

IMO that’s who the “all these girls will drop out” comment was directed to and it wasn’t accurate.

Without taking a position on percentages, I do think parents 5 years ago underestimated how club soccer would only grow in popularity and size, so even girls who are not looking to play D-1 are still involved. There are tons of 07 teams at all levels, and the turnover is not as big as one expected in 2017.

Youth soccer is actually declining in the US, not growing. What you've seen is a consolidation of talent towards the top leagues. Parents want "the best" if they're going to fork out all that money and time plus give their kid the best shot at playing n college. But because there's still plenty teams out there who will take anyone's check you can readily still participate. Revisit some of these lower team in 18 months. You'll see far less playing than are now as the time pressures of high school ramp up and players start to re evaluate their goals, time, and aspirations.

The ECNL northeast conference has 4 top clubs - Stars Blue, CFC, SUSA and WC...No other clubs could possibly win any age group...
