As others have said, you still need to target properly. You can get ahead of the process, but you cant get ahead of yourself
Unless you play for Stars. It’s been said here before coaches lineup to watch younger age groups, even regular league games. #provenpathway

It doesn't matter who you play for, every local team has recruited players at all levels.

        correction, every local club

Please do yourselves a favor and go look up fc stars on YouTube and what you’ll find is a mostly poor quality of soccer all around. Girls soccer is not good to watch. With the exception of a few quality players in the mix, they are mostly average and that’s putting it nicely.

So you don’t like girls soccer. Noted
continue doing yourself a favor and compare the commit lists of Stars to any other local club. Assuming you’re correct that girls are “mostly average” then it seems going to Stars if the best thing a player could do

Yea. If you aren’t playing ECNL then you can forget college. Only ECNL players are recruited, I saw the local university coach at a u8 game, said he was there because Stars is ECNL. He had a bunch of scholarships to hand out and the parents were just lining up.

Nuh-uh. That’s not how it happens. They don’t hand them out on the field. #clueless.

Parents will get a note via u8 coach a few days after the game. Giving the increasing restrictions, college coaches are focusing on the u8 players. Its about the long game. Everything this decade will have an asterisk. The entering class of ‘31 is the next class that matters. If you’re not on Blue already, you dont know what you dont know

Stars 015 group is going to play ECNL so its worth the risk to hand out the scholarships on the sideline. If they play ECNL they are college worthy and MUST be signed asap or risk losing them to Stanford or UNC. ECNL is the only proven pathway so get them early… rules be damned

Is this true? Does this include ECNL-R too?

agreed. a lot of long ball, no possession.

Direct play will beat possession play if done correctly with the proper players.Watch GA games it’s like watching high school

Yes. In youth soccer it is mostly about lowest risk / highest reward. Playing short passes through lines is great but every pass before the offensive third is an opportunity for a bad touch, poor ball and a counter attack goal against. And since most girls dont really care or watch the sport and their parents have no clue what theyre looking at, there is no reason for a coach to risk his job just to play a style that wouldnt be appreciated anyway and doesnt maximize likelihood of winning.

I watched a couple of our town’s Varsity games this year and the girls were all shooting from 30 yards out at every opportunity. Unfortunately the keepers were so bad that this was a good strategy to have.
