Crazy turn of events for NEFC. They were cruising along crushing the rest of GA. Then one player left mid spring season for Scorpions and now the are losing 4-5 more, including most of their top players.

It’s always a crappy situation when a team implodes. Everyone is out for themselves and you can’t trust what anyone is telling you. Some kids who don’t want to leave are probably now looking because of FOMO, while others have probably decided to leave but are keeping it to themselves until the ink is dry on the new contract.

NEFC facts-
One player left for Scorpions and is playing on their roster already.
One player left for Stars and will be on their roster for U15.
Several other girls have been training with the ECNL clubs, but their intentions are not announced yet.
That’s it.

- The teammates that previously left will be a draw to switch (come join us!)
- Coach of ECNL team will use former teammates as mutual contacts, recruit, make promises
- The general draw of ECNL, college recruitment years
- Unhappiness with current coach/league
- The current team loses players, friends, creating a completely new environment, not as competitive, not as fun as it used to be
But whatever any individual family's particular reason, you'll see it happen.
As for current players on those ECNL teams now (lower level starters and bench players), be prepared for 6-8 new players from outside the club to displace current players over the next few years. Also inevitable.
