If you are getting a contract this early, you don’t need to worry about playing Regional.

No will say ‘regional’ or ‘national’.. It is clear

Crazy turn of events for NEFC. They were cruising along crushing the rest of GA. Then one player left mid spring season for Scorpions and now the are losing 4-5 more, including most of their top players.

Classify this one as disappointing but not unexpected. To many, the draw of the ECNL platform is real.

I feel bad for those kids. My daughter has played them many times over the years. Strong team that played great soccer.

It’s always a crappy situation when a team implodes. Everyone is out for themselves and you can’t trust what anyone is telling you. Some kids who don’t want to leave are probably now looking because of FOMO, while others have probably decided to leave but are keeping it to themselves until the ink is dry on the new contract.

Sorry not happening. One great player made the switch and one more good one may. That’s it.

Someone is obviously out of the loop.

                  NEFC facts-

One player left for Scorpions and is playing on their roster already.
One player left for Stars and will be on their roster for U15.

Several other girls have been training with the ECNL clubs, but their intentions are not announced yet.

                  That’s it.

It's still early. More to follow in the next few years leading up to U17 for any non-ECNL teams. It is inevitable. Variety of reasons:
                    - The teammates that previously left will be a draw to switch (come join us!)
                    - Coach of ECNL team will use former teammates as mutual contacts, recruit, make promises
                    - The general draw of ECNL, college recruitment years
                    - Unhappiness with current coach/league
                    - The current team loses players, friends, creating a completely new environment, not as competitive, not as fun as it used to be

But whatever any individual family's particular reason, you'll see it happen.

As for current players on those ECNL teams now (lower level starters and bench players), be prepared for 6-8 new players from outside the club to displace current players over the next few years. Also inevitable.

I don't really think so. It's healthy to experience new teammates and new coaching. The top kids who leave, if Stars/Scorpions does it right, will have the chance to play on an even better team and presumably develop further. How is that bad?

Their coaches made them into great players so they will leave to go play for coaches who couldn’t develop their own players and that’s a step up? Ok

Development at different stages could mean different things. It's their choice, isn't it?

No they didn’t, kids natural ability and work ethic did. Coaches teach you to use the tools you have, they don’t create talent.

If that's all it takes, why are we paying thousands of dollars a year to go to particular clubs to get the "highest level" training?
