2 good Select GA girls heading over to Scorpions. Seems like GA girls getting nervous.

Are the ECNL clubs in a race to reach a roster size of 30?

The entire NEFC team is being rebranded as Stars Red ECNL.

Roster size for most ECNL teams is around 18. Unlike at Select where their roster size on most teams is 24, ECNL clubs make a 1 for 1 swap at the end of the year. It's called tryouts and Stars and Scorpions will take the best 18 girls and will move the bottom of the roster down to Regional. This is why every year stars and Scorpions teams improve. There is a big difference between teams like Select just adding to their roster and ECNL teams always making the roster stronger every year.

what bothers the pizz out of me is listening to GA parents pout and complain that the big bad ECNL teams are taking away players from NEFC and South Shore Select when they do the same exact thing to the lower clubs. It's a double standard listening to NEFC dad-now Stars white dadx2??- complain that Stars is stealing their players, yet, when bayside or liverpool girls in NEFC's case or in Select's case NEFC SS actually come over to GA the GA parents are ok with that. HUH?????

There is still a lot of talent out there in this age group. I think that NEFC GA can still be very good as many will choose GA over a regional spot.

And above lies GA's biggest problem while GA girls inevitably leave as they get older for ECNL so ECNL gets the GA girls to replace the bottom of the roster, GA is left to go to lower clubs for replacements. NOT fair but the way club soccer works!

Scorpions has 21 on their 07 roster online. Only 18 allowed on game day so means 3 have to stay home for each game? How do they work that one wonders?

I can’t speak to Stars, though they have 2 ECNL teams so technically 36 spots. Scorpions ECNL teams regularly have rosters of 20+. My D’s team has had over 18 every year. Not an issue when older as often times not every player is available for every match, especially away matches. It is a problem for home matches and the big showcases and inevitably players will have to sit as only 18 are allowed to play in any particular match.

My kid is on the 2007 Scorpions team. The ECNL rosters are out of date. Fake news that there are more than 18 girls.

I can say the same about the 08 online roster for Scorpions. 20 listed. 17 on the current roster.

                              Fair enough! Thanks for clarification.

Seen this happen before. You are right to be skeptical. The ones that are moving don't necessarily want everyone to follow and crowd them out. They'll want their buddies to move but no one else.
