Ya right, my 2007 doesn’t play for either Stars or NEFC due to geography, but hands down if I could choose either club, Stars would win every time

Here is where we left off with actual soccer talk after the Thanksgiving tournament. Lot has changed since then. Season (and life) canceled due to a virus. GDA cancelled. ECNL strengthened. GPS in taters. Lots of 2007 player movement.

Where is all this going to leave our 2007 teams? To early to tell. Top 5, (in a to be determined order) will be:

Stars Blue
Stars White
Scorpions
NEFC
SSS

NPL clubs Aztec, SPOL, FCUSA, Bayside, etc. in the next tier.

By the end of the fall it will be:

1. Stars Blue
2. NEFC
3. Scorpions
4. Stars White
5. South Shore

GAL is going to be a disaster. The NW, SE & Frontier divisions are going to require plane trips or 10 hour drives for regular league games. That is not sustainable. The mid-America conference has already said no high school because the midwest state to state high school seasons don’t align. Watch for the NE teams to try to pull the same crap.

The whole purpose for these national leagues is college showcases, and with the travel restrictions after this virus ECNL showcases will be one stop shopping. USSF just went head to head with ECNL and failed miserably. If GAL ever gained traction, ECNL would grab 8-10 GAL clubs and effectively kill the league.

Nobody leaving NEFC

I think NEFC loses 2-3 kids to the ECNL this year. And then 6-12 months from now another 3-4 once GAL sinks in.
