Thank god I have a year before my D plays HS and we can spend it evaluating all of the programs when we are allowed in fields again.

STA HS Policy

• STA does not advocate HS play
• STA will always take priority
• HS Coach has to agree to let STA dictate availability
• Full time players take precedence over HS players for games – if any STA event is missed that week
• Players may not play HS and GA games within 24 hrs
• No HS player can train more than 4 times per week (2 minimum with STA)
• STA events take priority when mandated
• Any player not training with STA cannot train with HS unless permitted by club
• Any injured player must not train with HS
• STA requires 48hrs notice for changes to HS schedules
• HS players must attend double header games away
• No HS player can miss Regional/National Showcase events

Is this what’s coming our way with GAL?

Yes other former DAs are also adopting this but they are not publicizing so they can grab your business for 10 mos first.

Here is where we left off with actual soccer talk after the Thanksgiving tournament. Lot has changed since then. Season (and life) canceled due to a virus. GDA cancelled. ECNL strengthened. GPS in taters. Lots of 2007 player movement.

Where is all this going to leave our 2007 teams? To early to tell. Top 5, (in a to be determined order) will be:

Stars Blue
Stars White
Scorpions
NEFC
SSS

NPL clubs Aztec, SPOL, FCUSA, Bayside, etc. in the next tier.

Agreed... I think the movement this year will be similar to any other year... 3-4 changes per team max on any of these top teams. Could be less—kids probably didn’t really have a chance to go train with a potential new team this spring. Families may want to stick with what they already know for now.

I do. My D’s 2007 ECNL team has added kids from more than one list team.

Here is how it works. Sally’s parents know Sally is a really good player. Really good players are heading to ECNL. Sally’s parents keep smiling at Becky & Mia’s parents from their existing team. Meanwhile Sally’s parents are working the phones, talking her up and having parents they know on team X put in a good word for Sally.

Bingo. Sally finds a new home, but keeps it secret so not to upset Becky & Mia’s parents until the last possible minute. Meanwhile, they are secretly trying to recruit Lucy to the new team too, because she is even better than Sally, and they want the new team to be really good.

And you know nothing about it because you are Becky & Mia’s parents.
