Hello Scott, get over SPOL and move on!

Why isn’t SPOL going to Jefferson Cup?

Why isn’t NEFC going to Jefferson cup? Last SPOL coach was more motivated than the current one.

I would like to see how NEFC would do at Jefferson Cup. I suspect they'd run into much bigger fish, just like the rest of the MA teams.

Very good competition. Select, NEFC & Stars 2007 teams have yet to make a final at that event.

NEFC does PDA. Last year Stars did both PDA and Jeff Cup, but the Stars teams have to travel to PDA for regular season games this spring--going there twice would be a tough sell. PDA is a smaller tournament than Jeff Cup, but just as strong in terms of competition.

PDA tournament is not even remotely close to Jefferson Cup in terms of the quality of competition. Jefferson Cup's top few brackets draw all the top teams east of the Mississippi. PDA tournament has PDA and a few good NJ teams. That's it.

Some of the Stars teams are doing both pda and Jefferson cup this year and still going back down to play them in regular league play.

That sounds like a lot of travel for 12 year olds. Is that really necessary? There are many competitive teams to play right here in the state. Great way to burn them out.

It is redik. But you're talking about broader issues with youth soccer - too many leagues and teams are diluting teams and competition. Teams have to travel more to find good games. They also travel to avoid local competition out of fear of losing a game and players to a local competitor. If you can stay out of the mess for another year or two you'll save some $ and lessen burnout.
