It's better than playing Empire United and winning 12-0 and driving 7 1/2 hours each way. Oh good God, I'd rather have my daughter play SUSA and PDA than Empire United anyday of the week. Losing might not build character as you said, but it certainly makes my daughter a better soccer player playing against some of the best teams in the country, but hey each to his/her own. I'm glad -seriously- that you like playing bad teams and winning.

Who won when Stars and NEFC played last (seriously I don’t know). I wonder if Stars dad and NEFC dad might actually be looking at similar teams in different leagues except NEFC wins in a weaker league and Stars gets to build character weekly.

NEFC dad. Serious question. How was the GA competition at your NC event? I’m not familiar with the teams you played. Good, bad, mediocre?

One very good team in FC Virginia. The other two teams were not competitive.

I see what you did there, i don’t think the results were posted because it wasn’t COVID pc and considered a non- tournament. Honestly, Im not even sure what teams played in that Stars weekend, assumed that somewhere NEFC played blue/white. You, However, can easily look (like I just did) and find NEFC went 2-1 this weekend... I have no idea the level of competition

Answer...... the same!!! They would 10000% go O-2

MUCH STRONGER teams in the ECNL compared to GA. Not even a question. ECNL is 10x better. I'd rather have my daughter lose against better competition than play the likes of Empire United, South Shore Select, Oakwood and Seacoast. Honestly, who wouldn't????
you must not be a blue parent. i don't think there will be blue parents pounding their chests about how good their ecnl situation is at the moment. watching other teams beat you because of something as simple as the other team's players knowing how to play their formation is getting older by the minute.

oh, and NEFC would beat east meadow 3-0 and play SUSA tight. don't know why so many of you can't be even half way objective.

NEFC would do just fine if they were dropped into ECNL. WIthin the past 2 years my Ds team has played them as well as in ECNL. I agree they'd likely be anywhere in that 3-6 place range with their team as is. Then I'd think theyd benefit from recruiting because they are a better club than some of their ecnl neighbors, league badge aside. NEFC into ECNL would be a huge win as long as FC STars dropped this two team stupidity. FC STars is not PDA and they are not capable of fielding two teams at every age group and being competitive. They should have one team.

Agree with all of this. And there's at least 3 reasons buried in what you say that explain why it unfortunately won't happen.

FC Stars has a terrible weekend but yet the conversation is on NEFC who had a good weekend. Makes no sense. Sounds like deflection to me.

I wonder if the crazy soccer parents from other states come here to read up on the crazy soccer parents from MA bashing each other and just laugh. Everyone tossing insults about the quality of the other league and thumping chests about the quality of their own when in reality if you take the top teams in MA and have them play nationally it doesn't work out regardless of what league it is. This, IMO, isn't due to the quality of the talent on the field but cant be traced back to the in-fighting at the club level and protection of territory.

This is why it would be nice if ODP could get back to being seen as a legit thing and supported by all the clubs. Then we could see the top players in the state train and play without all the strings attached

Nefc has played blue twice and both times have ended in 0-0 draws. Nefc has never faced white.

And herein is the perception issue. NEFC “had a good weekend” by beating two bad teams and losing to one strong team. Do you honestly think any of the three MA 2007 ECNL teams would do worse than 2-1 at that GA event? Get real.

Most of the “top players” aren’t in ODP. Wake up.
