Anyone they want that is who. The U15/U16 true MLS academy teams could drop a beating on top GPS, NEFC, Bolts, SSS 18/19 squads. Will be tough for older teams to find good games close but they will either be recruited by then (and dont really care to travel anymore) or have gone pro.

There is not one. Sad but true. GPS, NEFC, hell valeo too would likely beat DA clubs at the same age 50% of the time. No where else other than in the NE does privilege permeate through soccer. No wonder the state or region has and never will produce anything of significance on the soccer field.

The fact that Chamions league was played today and no one made a comment speaks volumes about the commitment to the game.

Some Revs players are already doing this, but others may have a real problem with it (either player or parents). This restriction alone may make it difficult to attract the best players, leaving the Revs with the best players willing to be home schooled. This may be a particularly hard sell if they cut younger teams out of their academy. Older kids will have already settled into their high schools and may be unwilling to trade the academic and social dynamic for home schooling.

Home schooling is definitely not for everyone. to be successful takes a great deal of motivation and discipline, as well as adult supervision to make sure benchmarks and deadlines are being hit. You also lose the social piece of school. There's a reason not many kids are homeschooled.

If the Revs or really any MLS club were to start residency programs the only way parents will willing sign their kids over is if the clubs affiliate with a local prep school. It doesn't have to be a top one, but a school that will give their kids a decent education and provide housing, meals etc. That obviously costs major $. I suppose another option is the club builds a residency building so kids can attend a decent local public school. Again, $ and more responsibility for the club. Having kids live with other families and attend different public schools all over the place on any kind of scale is just far too complicated. You also lose the bonding piece of players living together and probably practice frequency would be impacted.

Overall, few US families want to have a soccer club responsible for their kids' education. Most clubs don't want the responsibility of it either, particularly when few kids will turn pro or make much money for the clubs. International clubs have the deep pockets and the profits on homegrown players are there to justify the investment.

Privilege? GPS costs more than Bolts DA and Revs is free. Where's the privilege?

Overall, few US families want to have a soccer club responsible for their kids' education. Most clubs don't want the responsibility of it either, particularly when few kids will turn pro or make much money for the clubs. International clubs have the deep pockets and the profits on homegrown players are there to justify the investment.

Since the Revs aren't responsible enough to keep players from doing drugs on showcase trips, or discipline them after, I don't think any parent would allow them to educate their kids.
