    Dear parents,

As soon as you sign on the dotted line with the Revs Academy they own your kid’s MLS rights. That means your child, if signed, will be stuck playing for what is historically one of the cheapest organizations in the MLS. When coupled with the fact that the Revs operate in a region with some of the highest cost of living expenses in the country a very bleak picture begins to emerge. Miles Robinson is a local player that escaped the Revs’ clutches. He’s down in Atlanta making $200,000+ and living like a king. Several Seacoast standouts have relocated to Seattle to escape the Revs. If you REALLY believe your son has a shot at being a professional you need to find a way to bypass the Revs.

How will he afford it? He certainly couldn’t manage to return to Indiana. The out of state COA already approaches $50,000.

Players that use the Revs to earn a reduced rate at a prep school will end up with higher lifetime earnings than any Revs HG player.

Who cares where he goes after a pro career. Nobody knows his interest other than him.
Plenty of colleges or universities that are more affordable. Heck he could take some online courses. To each their own.

            Potential employers for one.

They’re more affordable when the school is paying some and your parents are paying the rest.

What does he do for income while he’s going back to school. School isn’t free. Housing is expensive in Massachusetts. He’ll probably be married by 30, potentially with children. See where this is headed?

Real professional athletes get paid millions and a large percentage struggle financially after they retire.

Sure, all two of those parents will listen some blabbermouth crank's advice here. "Going pro" nitwits simply don't get it. Dozens of ex-"pro" coaches in the area who played several years in lower level Euro leagues for the love of the game, not the crap money. Every three or four years, a Robinson or Steves might emerge, that's about it. Basically, people like you are frauds, we all know it and so do you.

If no one is going pro and the Revs don’t help with college recruiting why does anyone play for them? Is it just because it’s free?

did your son (and anyone who comments pro or con) about REVS, play there? or are you just like my 13 year granddaughter and her friends.

My son played there until he moved on to a better situation. There’s a wave of defections coming. Wait until next year.

Oh wow, that's exciting news alright. Thanks, we've never heard of this before at Revs. We're sure your defections will create an earthquake and Revs will shake things up for the better!

Five kids this year will be a problem for next year.

Well he does have 2 years of college done so he if he'd motivated he'll finish the other two. We all know the Revs pro track record is abysmal but he was stuck. That really sucks considering what they did to him before, so he must have really wanted it to put up with them.

Nope. They've already scooped up their replacements. And your kids weren't that good. You know that.

                            BTW, Revs don't care.

Wow, they’ve really sucked you in with all their B.S. You’re one of those parents that gets whispered about on the sidelines by the rest of us with a better understanding of the situation.

                              Here’s where we both agree:

I want you to re-type that 1,000 times this morning until it sinks in. They don’t care about your son and they REALLY don’t care about you. Your child is on their welfare program.

BTW, prison is also free, and when people leave they just scoop up more replacements.

I know you’re proud of the uniform because you think everyone else is jealous but that simply isn’t the case. Most people in the soccer community don’t know or care about the academy system. When you talk about the Revs their eyes glaze over and they start thinking about what items they need to add to their grocery list. No matter how hard you try to make it sound like a big deal just know that they’re already on to aisle 4 looking for Ritz Crackers. Then there are the “soccer people” that understand what you’re talking about, they just understand it better than you. They know your son’s team is worse than the local pay to play version. They know where to look up the standings. They are also convinced their son’s top ranked NPL team could beat your son’s Revs team. They might be right, BTW. So in the end you’re bragging to people that don’t care or know you’re full of fecal matter.

Enjoy your 2019-2020 season. Enjoy less practices than US Soccer mandates. Enjoy the mid-season cuts and painful additions. Enjoy the failed new residency program. Enjoy as you watch all the other kids that you feel couldn’t make the Revs, or who weren’t good enough to stay in your eyes as they succeed in preps and commit to better schools than the Revs inmates. I hope you particularly enjoy the away trip party culture since we both know it’s tolerated in Foxboro. Good luck because you’ll need it.
