It could be better, but still head and shoulders above any other club in NE. The amazing talent that he gets to train with 4.5 hours a week is reason enough.

I was just going to ask this. Say the coaching and training is a bit better at the Bolts, but the group of players is stronger at the Revs. Which program would help your development more? Seems if you're a Revs player, putting the money you'd normally pay for the program into outside training, plus the added exposure benefits of being on an MLS club, that you might be better off than the Bolts player who has a little better coaching. From a soccer standpoint, the kids going from Revs/Bolts to ISL seem the worst off, as they are most likely the star of the team (no teammates to raise their level), plus worse competition than DA and possibly worse coaching (yes, better academics, can't argue that point).

He is supposed to be getting 6 hours/week, so there's that. He'll get 3/week in the winter. Comparing it to SCU, OW and even the Bolts is hardly a fair comparison. It's a "who is the tallest midget" contest. funny how you didn't mention coaching at all, likely because it's also very weak

Take a look at the annual commitment threads. Prep school kids do just fine landing at top schools. In the end that matters more. No one is going pro. BTW college coaches know the Revs are one of the weaker MLS DA programs.

The kids going to prep school then play for Black Rock, which is at a higher level than prep school soccer.

That is exactly the calculation we have made when deciding to recommit to the Revs for a second year. It’s close though.

Your kid is playing academy and still has to go for outside training? Sounds like a reason not to go to the Revs. I hope your kid has already been given a full boat to Duke or Stanford or just got a pro contract from a European club to go through all of this trouble.

Legit logistics question . . . If my kid is a boarding student at prep, how does he get to Black Rock for training? Looks like it's in Western Mass? Or is there some Lake Placid residential thing going on?

Half the Revs squads go to ProProject training.

Poor kid, I allow mine to pursue his passions.

That's fine, how much do you pay for this passion?

                              Macrame? I heard it's making a comeback.

Around $1500 a year for his private trainer.
