Until the Revs become a residential team they won't be elite academy like FC Dallas, DC United, Sporting KC, ext. You get the best competition available, but you don't get really any different training. I know because my kid has been through it. I personally think he got better training before DAP, than in DAP. The playing experience has been beyond valuable. Son has zero regrets playing for the Revs. In fact, he had a great time. Everything was his choice and I supported him, either way, in doing so.

As with any club, there is always room for improvement, but not my place as I'm not involved with the Revolution (plus it's free). I do think Brad Friedel sees the importance of the Academy and I think changes will come about it for the better.

We have seen players come and go over the years in DAP.Take a breath and let players and parents figure this themselves. It's not for everyone.

I hope this is correct! Can you explain what gives you that impression? I do know that when he was still at Spurs, he bought a failed prepschool back in Ohio where he was going to start a residential academy (I think it was PSA Premier Soccer Academy). I know that there were 2-3 years of summer camp seasons, I don’t know if they ever got the year-around program off the ground. He did himself work the summer sessions, but, of course, had to go back to his day-job in England.

So he IS more familiar with the American Youth Soccer Landscape (at least as it was in the late oughts) than one might expect. I hope you’re right!

As a Revs parent I pray this leads to something better.

Won't happen as long as Kraft is still the owner. He won't spend on a dime more than necessary to keep it at a barely sustainable level. For the time being a clean sweep of the entire coaching staff is in order. But that would require effort, which again, doesn't seem to be in their plan.

thanks for your “concern”. My kid recovered very quickly from the disappointment, it has taken me a bit longer. Now we are both sure the Bolts are a way better club. I wish he had never played with the Revs, it almost destroyed his confidence.

Ahh! Now we know who and why all the Revs hate being spewed. Hope he does better at Bolts.

Don’t be so sure. Sounds more like a troll.

That response aside there are many current and former Revs player's who have nothing positive to say about the club

And the parents of the kids who were cut by Bolts have nothing nice to say here about Bolts.

Any Revs players who don’t like it, leave today. The club doesn’t need you.
