Agree with poster above. Revs don't care and neither does USSF. USSF needs them, the teams do ok, nothing will change. Find the best place for your player. If money is an issue now you've got more options or ask about a scholarship.

Does that mean Seacoast is even worse at developing players than the Revs?

It means the Revs realize what Seacoast has developed and want to steal it but they can't. People are wising up.

They just don't know what they're doing. They get the best talent in NE and choose a few players to focus on. What a waste on so many levels.

It's a long way from Canada to Gillette.

Dempsey traveled 3 hours each way to play soccer. I wouldn't travel 30 minutes to Gillette.

lol good point. You do it if it you feel like it's absolutely the right place for your player. But in all these years of floundering in DA and players flat lining under Revs coaching people are starting to finally see sometimes free isn't worth it. If other clubs can match the free portion then families can assess their options based solely on the club and coaching. That is good for area soccer and the players.

There are other options like ISL, ID camps, networking that will get you on a college team if that is your goal. If you want to play professional, the coaches at the Revs have already chosen their few that they think will make it. Don't even consider for a moment that your son will someday be on their radar, because he won't, unless you are one of.... those parents. But even then....

Even if your kid is on their radar their abysmal track record of development means you should stay away. Problem is what do families do - move to get their kid on another pro team?

If the YNT scouts for this region actually did their jobs, rather than sitting back and letting politics take over, there will be little advantage to joining the Revs in the future (if Bolts can indeed reduce their fees & Seacoast remains very low cost). Right now, though, Revs seem to have locked the other regional DA teams out of the system. Having YNT on your resume is huge for getting noticed if your kid wants to seek higher level play in Europe. Hopefully, a few of these younger Bolts and Seacoast kids, who are already rejecting the Revs, will continue to choose their current club every year, preferring the better development, and will end up breaking the Revs monopoly. Revs will be in trouble once the promise of better exposure is taken away and they are no longer able to attract the best players that other clubs actually developed, as they do now.

Forgive my ignorance but what does "those parents" mean?
