These "talents" you cite that need scholarships to play: you have know freaking idea of the challenges they have to overcome just to make it to practice. Almost by definition your "club" doesn't train anywhere near where they live (and probably not anywhere near public transportation). They might not have a parent able to drive them to games so other parents need to step up and pick them up, drop them off.
Most kids show up with flashy new boots every season. Hopefully the club squares them away with that. But still, is your MAGA hat so tight you can't squeeze out an ounce of empathy for what it must be like to have to rely on generosity just to play a game. Or what it's like to feel like everyone else caught all the breaks? (Yes, Ayn, you worked so hard to earn everything, no one handed you anything, sure.)
And then to have some jackass parent moan about, "why do I have to pay just so this other kid takes playing time away from my snowflake?" Or if you miss practice b/c I don't know, you didn't eat that day or your sister needs someone to watch her only to have some douchecanoe deride your "work ethic"?

Inner city kids have no way to get to Foxboro, never mind smothering helicopter parents to tune them into times/dates/locations, free or not. Get a grip on your entitled self - at least to progress soccer in this country.

That would be welcome progress in the soccer world. Europe provides academies and pro headed players do NOT attend HS but live in the proximity or at the academy. LA Galaxy et al do the same -(on-line HS is AT the field) attendance from 8 - 7. 4 hours practice /day.

Chelsea mandates a full day a week and every aft at the academy as an example. Most Brits can finish HS at 16 and take their GRE. AJAX and most are residential at 17 for the pro bound.
