This. With the exception of a few very specific degree programs in STEM, there is very little you learn in college that is applicable to a real world career. How about those Gen Ed Foreign Language requirements? How about electives like Philosophy, Ancient History, Women's Studies, etc? How useful is that to 99% of graduates in terms of career and job training? It's not.

It's a con game that is perpetuated by Higher Education, enabled by government-backed student loan financing, and used as a hiring gate by HR departments everywhere. The price of admission to a white collar career. Too bad no one bothered to teach kids (or parents) real world math like compound interest to figure out what the real cost is on a $200k education when you are lucky to get a $50k/yr job.

Agree, Kaplan On-Line U is definately the way to go for your kid. You have your child's best interests at heart and have strategically mapped out a wonderful life plan.

Many STEM careers need graduate school on top of undergrad education.

And you can happily pay $200,000 for your kid to party and protest when things get difficult.

So do many career paths in general. If you can graduate undergrad without much debt you're that much further ahead in your ability to either attend graduate school, or start living like an adult and doing things like buying a car, maybe a small condo, traveling...

The Revs aren't about college. They want dumb soccer players.

Revs should be about making pro-soccer players, not snowflake crybaby wealthy suburbanites who don't want their hedgefund/lawyer/Manager/Biotech spoiled brats to learn humanities, history or the truth.

You sure are whiny for someone who likes to point out snowflakes.

Just like USSF. USSF only cares about what amounts to a handful of players in the system. Most players know they aren't NT or pro material. They just want to play good soccer and a chance to play in college. The two sides aren't in agreement as to what the goals are, which drives the issues and failures. IF DA were much smaller and focused on the top talent, using ECNL/ENPL as a feeder system, it would serve the needs of all much better.

This seems true in fact. They have approx. 8 current players that meet every Monday evening for two hours of training. Unbeknownst to the rest of the Academy players.

You are exactly right and ALL fans, parents, and players (including current Revs players) in the area should be pissed that the Revs don't seem to truly care about producing the best possible product. We are getting ripped off by this fraud organization

Who cares. I still don't pay a dime for what you pay through the nose for. Have a great Spring.

You do realize that non-MLS DAP teams are paying very little now. At least at the older ages, one club only charges a travel fee. I think I might rather pay and have my player get equal training and treatment, rather than deal with a club that gives only a certain few the required 4 days of training (unless my kid is one of the chosen ones, of course😊).

What club? Because plenty if not most non MLS clubs charge. They just don't charge as much as say a competitive level/regional premier team. Travel is extra.
