Question as my oldest will be deciding on her final spot soon. She's at a big club that has a good reputation for placing players (with good reason). If I don't want her name listed on their lists can I request it not to be? I figure once she has decided those closest to her will know and that's all that need to know. Having followed these lists in prior years, this surprises me a bit (not the part about not posting your kid's name, which I understand). There are usually some NE-10 players who don't show up on this commitment list, but D-1s are more unusual- some of the local D1s haven't announced anything yet, so it will be fun to see who shows up. I don't think some of the NE-10s ever announce incoming classes, so if the club or family don't announce, we won't know at all (unless somebody digs through the rosters in the fall).Originally posted by Unregistered View Post

I had understood that it was more serious on the girls side with a more formal list (updated by the college coaches) to put everyone on notice that they are supposed to stop soliciting the committed player (assuming we're talking D1). Op here - The more I think about it the more I'd rather it not be listed. It really isn't anyone else's business outside our friends and family and the school. The club knows, her teammates know. I know the club uses the list to promote itself and bring in more talent but listing my kid won't matter. It probably won't go well, but are they going to kick us out because of it? Doubtful.
