I doubt a lack of "focus"- EK is the coach- but the good older players tend to gravitate to the strongest teams and this team isn't that.

Hard to imagination only 1 MA player selected between the two teams.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostAll makes sense. I'd make 2 other observations: D2s like Stonehill and St. Mike's always get at least a couple of MA kids, but the public probably won't find out unless the club or the player discloses it. Last year's NEFC team was really good, so perhaps not so surprising that BC took 2/3 of those kids last year. But completely agree that there must be more than 1 between BC and BU.
March is upon us. Unless the player him (or her) self has not decided on what school he/she wants to attend, then all the preferred players from D1, D2, D3 have already been selected and accepted. Those players that had a preference for a specific school and had the support of the coach would have applied early decision. Thereafter the selection is a combination of the school transcripts and the amount of support the coach was willing to put behind the player. To quote one coach "I have my A's, my B's, and my C's. The C's have to be Messi to get into this school". Suffice it to say, this was a stronger academic school. For those who are still waiting to here or decide from a specific school, either their school transcripts were not up to par or the coach was not putting much weight behind him/her.

Are these two quotes from actual knowledge and experience or are you guessing?

To add to this, what I have noticed increasingly so and more at the D1 level, a bit at the D2 level, and not so much at the D3 level is that coaching support goes well beyond our borders.....There are some D1 schools with a 1/3 of their roster filled by non-US students. It is a very very big world out there. Even if you get past the initial competition level and get into your prized D1 or even D2 school, you still have to get on the field....... otherwise, it may not be much fun...........
