Real truth in advertising would be to list the years during which kids played with a club, that would help to identify the clubs that worked well with kids when they were young as well as the clubs that are most sucessful at showcasing their players. But ALL the clubs just list any kid who was ever rostered with that club or any of its predecessors (or regional affiliates).
They do all do it even if the player was only there for a short time. But normally the club where the player is when they graduate/get recruited is the one that lands the "recruited" win. If coach is successful and is currently at a club X then club X will market him as such. It's a business and they'll market their assets accordingly to attract new talent. Besides, parents/players will look at a club/coach for a million other reasons then what a website says. And anyone who's been around this crazy MA soccer game awhile knows to take everything with a grain of salt.

And just to get the record clear, his National Champ team was with the Bolts. Not the Blazers. So their website is essentially a bunch of lies.
The Bolts should fix own Alumni page!
Long time Bolts player starting at Colby not listed.
The former Club Boss $$$ Colby kid listed

I'm more likely to believe BS misspelled his own name than BS included TD in his top 5 players in this class.

                    John Hamilton-Bolts-East Hampstead-PC

Will not go on the list but worth noting due to the MA clubs and New England D1 teams. The latter just committed and is likely an example of whether you want to be a depth player on a top D1 club or a starter for a D3 team. We'll see how that goes.

Over the past 6 years I've found about 10 MA kids/class play a lot in D1 soccer. Nearly all of those are recruited by the start of their senior HS year. By Jan of your Senior year, most D1 coaches are collecting depth players if at all. For the last three MA HS classes 30-40% of the kids DNP, and by Soph/Junior year about that % had dropped off the roster. As a coach, I personally know some of those players/families. There was a lot of anguish. PC picked up three MA players last year. PT was 0.0 minutes all in. On the other hand another freshman was one of the team stars. And many freshman on PC have started right away in the past few years. Being chosen by PC is a great honor and achievement regardless. But know what you're getting into.

Agreed that being "recruited" by PC is an honor and achievement but let's be honest, the 2013 class had some of our local DAP top players. They are thriving at PC and should be as they are great players. The 2014 class not so much. There should be no "anguish". They knew what they were getting into.

Fortunately, there are many other things to do in college....like concentrate on academics and making connections for internships and future job opportunities. Athletes should attend schools determined to give their best to make a team and, hopefully, play. However, they should pick their school realizing the real possibility that they might be on that particular team by the end of Freshman year for whatever reason. That said, the selection of the school should not be solely based on the sport that you hope to play.

Agreed the 2014 PC kids fall into the know what you're getting into comment, supporting the last post. Might be fine. The anguish families are from BC and Northeastern going back 2-4 years.
