I will stop immediately. Thank you for looking out for me.

If three of the four teams are from the same club, the fourth is just an email away right? So what kind of complex algorithm does GS offer that you can't do in a spreadsheet?

Maybe in that one age group. But tourney involved multiple clubs and teams across many age groups.

          U11 boys - 8 GPS teams / 12 total
          U12 boys - 9 / 12
          U13 boys - 8 / 11
          U14 boys - 8 / 12
          U15 boys - 5 / 8
          U11 girls - 6 / 8
          U12 girls - 6 / 8

Whatever you're paying GS, I'll do it for half.
And since the points don't matter, that should seem like a pretty good deal.

Half of zero is zero. And why did you leave out all the other age brackets--did they not fit your theory?

As a result, the rosters for each game were wildly inconsistent--leading, not surprisingly, to wildly inconsistent results. Bottom line is that the tourney did not matter--it was a few fun games and nobody involved really cared too much about the results. You shouldn't either.
As always, your GPS tournament 'did not matter.' Yet GPS NPL received 4000 GotSoccer points. But it does matter. GPS is making a mockery of our ranking system. NEFC, Stars, etc would never pull this crap. Teams actually earn points at their tournaments.

"Our ranking system"?? Its a bogus ranking system put out by a private company that is obviously targeting insecure parents. It means nothing. If you want to compare teams, look at their actual schedules, who they have played, and their performance. And, sad to say, sometimes there is not enough comparison data, so we will all have to live without knowing which U12 is the best. There is no magic "points" formula. Go to tournaments and play matches to win--not to earn some "points."

Yes our ranking system. It's bogus because GPS abuses the system.

It does not mean nothing unfortunately. But regardless you are a fool if you think GPS feels the same. It is their goal to dominate all age groups with a GPS NPL team at the #1 spot even if those teams, well, suck. Not MPS Knights. Not GPS Bulldogs. GPS NPL. Your kid is simply a pawn for their business model.

Certainly not a perfect system but we've found it helpful as a club when we get tournament invitations to look at the teams that are going to see if it's a good fit.

                        Since you asked....
                        U16 boys - 2 / 9
                        U17 boys - 1 / 6
                        U13 girls - 2 / 5
                        U14 girls - 4 / 6
                        U16 girls - 2 / 4

What is my theory, exactly? I haven't expressed a theory.

Registering a tournament via GS isn't free, everybody knows that.

You know, I've read your comment and I absolutely don't have any idea what it means. "pick up my kid? don't wait in the car?" Is English your first language? Listen, like I said, enjoy the soccer club you are presently involved in buddy and hope you get the most out of it for your boy.

Are clubs deciding not to enter GPS tournaments for this reason?

Kind of like publishing your own book. Throw yourself a tournament and award one of your teams 4000 points.

I'll translate it for you buddy.
You don't need to post here everything that GPS tells you in their emails to the parents. Half of it is a lie anyway. Looks like this is the only source of your information which is what your opinion is based on.
