    No you don't
So basically it was fabricated. Nice.

The age restrictions are/were as follows for the VW Junior Masters, "boys born on or after January 1, 2002" So what's the issue? Everyone get over it already. Some GPS Elite team players will not be able to attend the Portland National event so that should get you all giddy and excited.

Who's we? What team do you represent? The Aztec group? NEFC? Please, give us a break.
You don't have the player pools.

Most teams will have players that cannot attend the tournament in August. The difference with those teams is that all players are like GPS Ringers. However, VW should be more flexible on changing out a few players. I suppose since GPS ran the tournament, they could submit any roster they come up with. If they are missing their ringers it won't matter at all as they could barely win regular bracket games with their regular Elite boys.

              Don't embarrass MA!

USYSA teams are required to have "permission to travel". US Club does not require.

no issue. - but why wouldn't 'born after Jan 1, 2002 ' be able to play in Portland in Aug?

makes no sense. Allowed roster changes up to 4 only from Regional to National.

Also, no issue of crossing state lines. It's an east coast tournament. Not MA. GPS will hold it in Maine next year to ensure their win.

I have been wondering what "GPS" stands for. I have think I have come up with some possibilities:

                    1) Games & Players Scandals?

                    2) "GotSoccer" Points Slaves?

                    3) Garnishing Parents' Salaries?

                    4) Gonna Poison Soccer?

                    5) Guaranteed Post-pubertal Strikers?

It is interesting to note that within minutes of a negative GPS post, someone has the time and interest to try to minimoze or discredit the criticism.

I doubt even the most pro-GPS parent has the time or interest to be their 24/7 spin machine, so fair to assume it is coming from inside the organization.

So, GPS, you can work very hard to discredit the criticism, or, perhaps, you can gain insight from it and then operate in a way that eliminates (or at least reduces) unfair criticism. There are reasonable concerns re whether anything is done on your part that would mean the playing field is not level at tournaments.

Somehow I believe that if there was nothing to this topic, the organization (and any contributing parents) would have worn their ribbons proudly and never commented.

I am one of the "spin machine" discrediting the anti-gps posts. The fact is we left GPS because it was very disorganized. We are with a different club now.

I counter the posts because there is has been no proof that GPS has done anything wrong. The OP and the anti-GPS posters don't like getting beat and can not seem to live with it.

"Beat"? Seriously? How about countering the the posts with a simple explanation of why GPS failed to build the tournament, allowed overage kids to play, as organizers knew overage kids were playing for GPS but failed to inform opposing clubs about it, and flew in players from as far away ad NC for what was supposed to be a northeast regional tournament? You have posted a pile of crap but failed to answer the most elementary questions which has seriously discredited GPS.

Good post! No one is jealous of GPS. The fact is, if I wanted my kid to be on a GPS NPL team, we would be. The tournament participants are pissed at how the event was not advertised, how it was run, and how GPS manipulated it to their benefit. We don't join MPS because your program is weak. No one is impressed with your tactics to win.
