If three of the four teams are from the same club, the fourth is just an email away right? So what kind of complex algorithm does GS offer that you can't do in a spreadsheet?

U12 boys - 9 / 12

U14 boys - 8 / 12
U15 boys - 5 / 8
U11 girls - 6 / 8
U12 girls - 6 / 8
Whatever you're paying GS, I'll do it for half.
And since the points don't matter, that should seem like a pretty good deal.

Given the time of year (post-tryouts, pre-acceptance), there were a host of guest players on all sides, as well as lots of kids missing for some or all of the tourney for a wide range or reasons (conflicts with town soccer and other sports, graduations, private schools already on vacations). As a result, the rosters for each game were wildly inconsistent--leading, not surprisingly, to wildly inconsistent results. Bottom line is that the tourney did not matter--it was a few fun games and nobody involved really cared too much about the results. You shouldn't either.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostAs always, your GPS tournament 'did not matter.' Yet GPS NPL received 4000 GotSoccer points. But it does matter. GPS is making a mockery of our ranking system. NEFC, Stars, etc would never pull this crap. Teams actually earn points at their tournaments.

If you want to compare teams, look at their actual schedules, who they have played, and their performance. And, sad to say, sometimes there is not enough comparison data, so we will all have to live without knowing which U12 is the best. There is no magic "points" formula. Go to tournaments and play matches to win--not to earn some "points."

What is my theory, exactly? I haven't expressed a theory.
Registering a tournament via GS isn't free, everybody knows that.

Are clubs deciding not to enter GPS tournaments for this reason?
Kind of like publishing your own book. Throw yourself a tournament and award one of your teams 4000 points.

You don't need to post here everything that GPS tells you in their emails to the parents. Half of it is a lie anyway. Looks like this is the only source of your information which is what your opinion is based on.
