ref has to have control of the game PERIOD

The players are actively coached from the sidelines, and the parents direct slanderous remarks at the opponent players.

Wake up, it is u11, and the ref has to have control of the game period without idiot parents directing him. If refs had courage to make calls without retribution they would control the tone of the game.

Coaches should be telling their kids to play and parents watch and shut up except for cheering. Coaches that sit idly by are encouraging poor behavior.
    amen!

if this club is a repeat offender, why not mention, discuss, or a send tape/video of this behavior to Mass Youth Soccer or another governing body?

Please tell me this is a joke. I need your definition of retribution. I've seen several refs control several idiot parents. I've seen teenage refs do it. There are formal procedures for reporting refs so use them.

That is exactly what our club has decided to do. If our boys' team has to play them again, we will record the entire game with multiple video cameras with sound.

I referred the matter the last time to a Maple official that is a friend of mine. Did not make it very far without more proof.

Really. In my son's game with NU, the boy with long hair shoved one of our boys deliverably and was pushed back twice as hard, that ended that.

Nobody has long hair on the team, really.

But in that type of case, the ref should have called it and "ended that." Don't you agree?

The kid who pushes back always gets caught.

You obviously have never played the game. Some players like to see what they can get away with. The answer to your NU bully was not much.

Oh boy let's call the push police. Lady, that happens a few times every game. Maybe the kid stepped on his cleats or kicked his shin. I would push someone off me too.

As long as it stops, who cares? It's a problem when the entire game is played like that and the ref does nothing to control the players or the parents (or becomes a puppet to the parents.) Or the coach encourages his players to play dirty.

Nope. No way. You are not putting this on Newton United. We also played Explosion and left with a bad taste in our mouths. We lost to NU, but had no issues. The ref was fine for that game as well. I am glad someone posted about explosion on this site. Maybe something will finally be done.

What happened during Scorpions vs NEFC game?

Will someone from the Scorpions or NEFC tell us about the game?

I would look closer at the ref in this situation. Not to say that what you say happened wasn't horrible. There is no place for the type of behavior you describe, but the referee should be in control of the situation. Not for nothing but we played Explosion and the players and parents were fine. It was early in the year at a tournament and the game was not very good or close but there was not any of the behavior described on TS.

Same with Valeo at WC, no problems at all with Explosion.

When we played Explosion, the ref was lukewarm. Explosion played a rough, kick and run game, with dangerous behavior on the field. Dangerous, meaning I was afraid someone was going to break a leg. The ref did not call enough fouls but at least he was not taking orders from the sidelines. (though the parents were certainly vocal enough about getting this kid or that number rather than getting the BALL)
