ECNL wants to switch back to school year from birth year

I guess I’ll have to see it to believe it with chaos. 2 kids moving from 2011 to 2010 in open spots left by 2011s moving to 2012 … not sure how that’s a ghastly nightmare. So, when there are more trapped the bottom bench gets cut? Ummm - that’s a good thing! Kids who move “down” to their grade are now the biggest and can start - a good thing for them. There are tryouts and kids moving around and shuffles every year and somehow we all manage.

I repeat. I have single handedly curated my team and turned 100’s of better players away to give my girls the best chance of playing in the ECNL. Losing even two players unravels a lot of my plans because it forces me to acknowledge that there are better players out there. Because those better players are now on my team and I have to figure out how to explain why they aren’t starting.

I watched my kid do half a practice last night with his GY 1st team and half with his BY 2nd team…. HUGE DEAL.

Hey Bot! The problem is these are athletic kids. They are just going to softball, basketball, and lax because they know everyone on the team. Parents can car pool with ease. The only person thinking about oranges is you, Bot.

Then they don’t really like soccer and good to not play it because you have to LOVE it to be successful at a high level which if they need friends to play they don’t love it, you love it. And BTW, you are kind of dumb to use my line, like you have the personality of a door but probably why your kid needs a crutch to get on the field. Now go cut some oranges and make your baby daddy a sandwich, he’s had to listen to you talk all morning. You need to do something positive for him to balance it out.

As much as I want to hear everyone’s opinions about SY/GY or BY. Has anyone heard from a reliable source about a real change coming? I’m sure this has not popped up at out know where. I get there was a podcast about it . Has anyone Director talked with them about it.

FACT: there are multiple surveys from National soccer organizations circulating. There was a link to one from out west 50 pages ago. I received a different one a few days ago.

And that’s the points a survey means very little. This thread is huge and not one person can give any real insight about if a change is happening. Just a lot of wishful thinking.

I took the survey. It doesn't say it has anything to do with the BY/GY change and the questions, in fact, have nothing to do with the BY/GY change. Stop trying to turn everything into evidence. You're acting like conspiracy theorists. Get a grip.

I believe (and like) the 1st amendment. YOU (there you go) need to learn what it applies to.

As far as why not discuss politics & sports, one reason is as decisive as the current political climate is, the odds are pretty good a thread will devolve into a uncontrollable argument.

Contrary to what you might believe, TPTB for this board (including moderators) get to decide what topics are allowed to be discussed. If we don't like it, we're free to go elsewhere or start our own board
