My oldest is u14 and has been playing since she was 3

My youngest is u9 and has been playing since she was 6

If anything happens in the next 3 years with Acadamies it will affect my oldest. If anything happens in the 7 years it will affect my youngest.

Either way it's important. Maybe not to you but to others.

You're good, nothing will happen in their playing lifetime. No need to worry.

Couple of things I've learned in youth soccer.

        1. You never know own what might happen next
        2. Always follow the money

I see the $$$ forcing NWSL into acting like all the other big leagues.

Look at what's going on with NCAA. The entire college concept of amateurism could vanish in under a year.

Right. It's been ongoing for 20+ years, but yeah...could vanish in a year...

Worry more about whether your kid is progressing in the sport, giving her best effort and enjoying herself. Those are the things that are in her/your power. Why put any energy into all the myriad hypothetical things that may or may not happen. None of those potential things will affect your kid until they come to be. You can then make decisions at that time. But if she hasn't progressed, put effort in, or enjoyed herself, it won't matter anyway.

Boston doesn’t have a team until 2026. Even if it partnered with a local club, neither of your daughters will see any benefit. There’s just not enough time. The girls in the existing NWSL academies aren’t seeing additional competition or influx of talent yet and they already exist. Don’t waste your time on the maybe, if only, scenario. All we can do as parents is give our girls opportunities to develop and grow. Yes, exposure matters, but so does putting in the work every day. Opportunities will exist for the truly talented, regardless of league.

Triggered! Must be a club exec selling the D1 dream or a parent who put all their $$ into soccer as a college savings plan.

tell me good sir, how many of those 20 years have included NIL money and unionized players?

Just as NWSL is finally finding traction and building a foundation of future prosperity with the recent addition of two clubs with more coming GA daddy has the answer. NWSL is looking to expand clubs in the States and the league in Europe. NWSL has no plans today or the near future to get involved with youth soccer and hundreds of GA daddies.

                        So you're saying that...

                        - NWSL is not the only major professional soccer league without a homegrown rule and acadamies.

                        - NCAA is not in trouble with the expansion of NIL and player Unionization.

Please let everyone know. It will be fun to go back to posts like yours in the future.

                          Uh oh...

Sure looks like NCAA is trying to double back and cover their tracks. Unfortunately this is going to be another court loss of many to come.

Ironically ECNL parents from top teams are pretty normal. They just want to play against teams that are competitive. The ECNL parents that are simply awful are the bottom feeder team parents who lose every week and have nothing to brag about other than being in ECNL.
This is so inaccurate. This is a Stars site dominated by parents crowing about Stars. All with a focus on winning.

                              Not to bright, are ya'?

I'm just a parent of a kid who plays the game. I'm a parent who played the game. I mock the constant negativity on the board, so you are a prime candidate.

Anyhoo, you made a comment about NCAA changed "overnight", and the reality the "change" has been in process for 20 years. I admire your persistence, sort of like trying to keep your dog from rolling in fresh shlt.

What I am saying is some peoples glasses are 1/2 full and some are 1/2 empty. Judging by this years draft of players directly from club/high school, college players who left early and college graduates the message is very clear that your academy world is not in the forceeable future. You just do not understand or want to accept the truth because you like to argue as many trolls do on TS. The soccer culture in the USA is different where college takes precedent.
