I won't disparage any other league; she, and I, enjoyed our time there and don't hold anyone to any ill will. Just had to make a decision, and am glad it worked out as it did. Possibly could've worked out as well where we were (there is a player from that club on her college roster), but she worked too hard all her life to not go all-in.

I disagree. One of the USWNT new call ups under Vlatko had a similar story. Lived in CA, went unnoticed by colleges until moving to ECNL her junior year and ended up with a full ride to a major D1 college in the course of 2 months. Same player, different setting. Made all the difference.

Some get found sooner than later, that’s all. The magic dust they spread on ECNL players must miss a few along the way.

What is their incentive to roll the dice on a player in a lower league vs. one in a known environment that has delivered success?
Do you shop around for the best deal all the time and end up with something from Wish! or do you stick with the local store that always treats you well?

I'm not necessarily a JD fan, don't even really know him. But I will say, if you see him at a Showcase and walks the sideline, literally every coach says hello to him. Even though my kid was on White, he called the school on her behalf and they moved forward after he did.
Believe it or not, really don't care. Just my observation.

My D is at the end of her soccer journey and one thing I’ve learnt is that no matter how good a player looks, 75% of the the time they can’t make the step up to the next level. So, if you’re going to recruit a player for college you have to focus on the highest level of competition there is. Any other way is a huge risk.

The top of ECNL that matters is not walking through that door. I know ECNL is in damage control from last weekend. You don’t have to make up imaginary players, pretend you don’t try to win or sell that coaches only see talent with your patch. Sell us on your program because being an ass all the time I don’t think helps.
Lots of programs out there, I'm sure you can find a Big Ten or SEC program sniffing around your league games. Good luck.
