MOST players aren't top quartile. Many have a big adjustment to make when targeting schools and then again on campus. You're not the top player any more

My gawd this is insufferable. Yesterday I shared observations from my own kids experience to counter myth that “high academic” institutions are actually harder once enrolled. They’re not. All colleges require work, papers, projects.
How the definition of latitude came under such scrutiny, or why it matters is beyond me. Of course, i didn’t go to a high academic school, so maybe my D can help explain it to me.
