Streaming, sure. On ESPN or a P5 Network channel? probably not. Not that it matters

The hard part is parents accepting that Mia may be good, but not top top level.
MOST players aren't top quartile. Many have a big adjustment to make when targeting schools and then again on campus. You're not the top player any more

My child's conference has its own network.

Umm, if you start year one, you probably are. There are players that do that.

And yes. we agree. That's my point. Forget top quartile even. Most players are not elite, even if the league is called the E(LITE)CNL.

Yes, there are easy majors at Ivies...but none designed to keep athletes eligible like Communications or Sports Management. I even saw one school with a Kinseology major lol. Ivy athletes looking for an easy major end up in things like Economics or Psychology.

                  Certainly not Patriot League tho.

At Ivies, the limitations are simple...player must be academically in-range and recruiting class needs to include stronger academic recruits to balance out the academic profile of the recruiting class. Have seen first-hand where an Ivy loved a player, but once they saw her transcript they said no-thanks.

And, as was pointed out, those limitations have flexibility. Good student, volunteer, community activist, published author, good athlete, etc. - it all goes into the mixer on what is deemed "Ivy Material" (say that with a long drawn out, pompous accent). Concessions are made if there are enough of them beyond the GPA.

Have seen first-hand where an Ivy loved a player, but acceptance was unlikely once they saw the transcript but they were convinced to say thanks.

How far out of range was the transcript?

My gawd this is insufferable. Yesterday I shared observations from my own kids experience to counter myth that “high academic” institutions are actually harder once enrolled. They’re not. All colleges require work, papers, projects.

How the definition of latitude came under such scrutiny, or why it matters is beyond me. Of course, i didn’t go to a high academic school, so maybe my D can help explain it to me.

Do you really believe that all colleges are the same in terms of academics? That a physics major at Princeton is the same as a physics major at Boston College?
