We wouldn’t switch unless something drastically changed, and we definitely wouldn’t switch to play for white or Scorps. So lots of factors, When DA blew up we considered everything but stuck with GA and we aren’t disappointed.
The question was posed more for the club level, not players. Of course it's variable by teams and players. It's even semi variable at the club level - but if clubs think ECNL is the future and will bring more $ ? Not even a question. Some might chose to stay in GAL because it's a better fit for their market

I’ll stick with SSS GA even their Impact teams strong. You all can go chase your ECNL dreams but they aren’t worth the money in my book since they are knows for win at all costs and recruiting and dumping mid year.

Not worth the money? You know that Select is far more expensive than every other club in MA, right?

So in other words you don't think your D would play much in ECNL. Nothing wrong with that as fit is critical. But GAL costs just as much as ECNL with weaker competition. If your player would get PT on a decent ECNL team is GAl still a better price value??

SSS is closer. Coaches are dedicated. Kids aren’t replaced on GA yearly like ECNL, not as many teams per age group. I don’t care that GA cost as much at SSS as ECNL. I think SSS is a good club and good fit. Nothing to do with kid not being able to play for an ECNL team. Everything to do with coaches, logistics, and focus on development over win at all costs.

Would be great to get another MA option besides NEFC & South Shore Select. Does anyone know if any other MA clubs are being considered?
What do Top Hat, Nationals, FC Virginia & NEFC have in common?

They all want to get into ECNL.

Local ECNL clubs won’t play them

Not true at all. Stars and Scorpions ECNL have played NEFC across multiple age groups (in tournaments) over the past few years.

You do realize Oakwood had a team make it to the GA finals last year right? And that team is first in the GA Northeast league right now. They also have 3 other teams in the top half of the Northeast league standings. That leaves two teams (07 and 09) at our near the bottom of the league. Whoever on this board who keeps putting Oakwood in the basement must have a 2007. I don't have a girl at Oakwood but my D's team (not a 20070 has played Oakwood multiple times and they always play very good quality soccer and can compete with any team from any league. My guess is you're from SSS. Am I right?

You don't know what you're talking about. In fact I'd argue ECNL teams don't cut often enough. Generally once you're on a roster by U14/15 you're pretty safe, even if you're barely playing. And do you think GAL coaches don't play to win? Laughable. They all do. Records help them keep their jobs and keep new customers coming to the club. Great that you found a good fit for your player but it isn't a good fit for all. Your mileage may vary locally, but as a league ECNL>GAL

lol and OW has 2 teams in the basement - u13s are 1-9-1 and u15s 0-8-2. They lost all their games yesterday to SSS. Whats your point?

My kid has played in both leagues. ECNL competition is much higher consistently.

One of the redeeming qualities of GA is very few of the teams seem to take any shortcuts. They are a full ten month season with few doubleheaders.

My league is better than your league. Please. Both leagues are equal competition and both good pathways to D1. Stop selling the lies.

But they're really not 10 months any longer - once GAL dropped the no HS rule and everyone wanted to play HS, most games and practices are jammed into winter and fall like ECNL. It's really no different than ECNL in terms of timing, travel and cost. It's the quality of competition that differentiates the two leagues
