Who could be excited about that list of coaches? It's dwindling as well. Prepare to be disappointed.

We are not against Vaccines. My family gets all kinds of vaccines, especially for things like Polio and MMR, and even global travel where the impact of contracting that disease is devastating, and the risk of the vaccines are known to near zero. Easy choice.
For 4 out of 5 members of my immediate family the known risk of Covid is less than what we perceive as the unknown risk of the Vaccines. It's a bad trade, but yet 2 of us were forced to get vaxed, and I chose to.
Literally billions of Covid vaccines have been given around the globe, but keep denying the science. Hopefully your kid isn't planning on majoring in any science related field, or teaching. You're raising a denier. Job well done dad.

Same bad trade logic applies: It is no longer morally defensible to ask (demand) an Individual take on what they perceived to be unknown personal risk in exchange for a community benefit that is proving to be untrue.
The Vaccines have only proven to protect the individual. This IS a personal choice issue.

The longer people stay unvaccinated, the more the virus spreads and mutates. With Omicron, it’s figured out how to spread much faster and if it eventually figures out how to infect and kill more easily, then it’s game over. The crazy argument now is that it doesn’t kill effectively enough, but once it does all your personal liberties won’t matter. They can cover your dead body with whatever flag you wrap yourself in.

We decided this tournament wasn't worth it so we told the coaches we tested positive for Covid.

Oh, and I abhor lying. If you thought it wasn't worth going tell your club.

There is no doubt that Omicron transmits VERY easily, even among vaccinated and boosted. We wore masks at all indoor stores (grocery, pickup food, etc) and never ate indoors in a restaurant. We still managed to pick it up somewhere. I think many will come back positive from this event, especially with the kids running around the hotel. Everyone should do what they feel is best, but no one should also be told they need to go. It simply is not worth it to many and that is fine. The problem then becomes there aren't enough players to field a team.

Other people are not afraid if them but have respect for them, pay attention and want to try to avoid spreading the virus to others which is the point of the guidance.
