Who could be excited about that list of coaches? It's dwindling as well. Prepare to be disappointed.

We are not against Vaccines. My family gets all kinds of vaccines, especially for things like Polio and MMR, and even global travel where the impact of contracting that disease is devastating, and the risk of the vaccines are known to near zero. Easy choice.
For 4 out of 5 members of my immediate family the known risk of Covid is less than what we perceive as the unknown risk of the Vaccines. It's a bad trade, but yet 2 of us were forced to get vaxed, and I chose to.
It's not your job to be uncomfortable for others.

Literally billions of Covid vaccines have been given around the globe, but keep denying the science. Hopefully your kid isn't planning on majoring in any science related field, or teaching. You're raising a denier. Job well done dad.

Many schools are simply sending less staff but not "no" staff. The one coach that goes will be hustling to see players.

Same bad trade logic applies: It is no longer morally defensible to ask (demand) an Individual take on what they perceived to be unknown personal risk in exchange for a community benefit that is proving to be untrue.
The Vaccines have only proven to protect the individual. This IS a personal choice issue.
Choices have consequences. As Djokovic who is stewing in an Australian detention center.

That means that only priority players will be watched.

Amazing how it flies over your head that the reason we are seeing these surges and worrying about hospitalization or death is because people refuse to get vaccinated. There are real consequences for our economy and health care system even when people come done with minor symptoms and call in sick or flood doctor’s offices and ERs (ERs unfortunately are the doctor’s office for the un/under insured). The reason flights are cancelled? People are out sick, duh!

The longer people stay unvaccinated, the more the virus spreads and mutates. With Omicron, it’s figured out how to spread much faster and if it eventually figures out how to infect and kill more easily, then it’s game over. The crazy argument now is that it doesn’t kill effectively enough, but once it does all your personal liberties won’t matter. They can cover your dead body with whatever flag you wrap yourself in.

Exactly. If coaches don't show up to see your kid it could be because of that, but they should also re-examine their targets. The impact of NCAA 5th year decisions will still be felt for awhile and good targeting is more important than ever.

We decided this tournament wasn't worth it so we told the coaches we tested positive for Covid.

What are you teaching your little alt-right extremist?

Swing and a miss. Dem voter here. Fully vax'd, take reasonable precautions including masks at all indoor establishments. Travel all the time (again, taking precautions). See, we're not all hiding in our basements but I guess you are.
Oh, and I abhor lying. If you thought it wasn't worth going tell your club.

There is no doubt that Omicron transmits VERY easily, even among vaccinated and boosted. We wore masks at all indoor stores (grocery, pickup food, etc) and never ate indoors in a restaurant. We still managed to pick it up somewhere. I think many will come back positive from this event, especially with the kids running around the hotel. Everyone should do what they feel is best, but no one should also be told they need to go. It simply is not worth it to many and that is fine. The problem then becomes there aren't enough players to field a team.

Other people are not afraid if them but have respect for them, pay attention and want to try to avoid spreading the virus to others which is the point of the guidance.
I think the poster meant fear of the quarantine protocols. As in they are not afraid of catching the virus but are afraid of having to miss work for 5 days - unless of course they are healthcare workers in Ri where they can go to work even if they are actively carrying the virus.
