If there is some type of ban on him and identifying him is getting him into some type of hot water then I will stop. That's not my intent.
I don't see how I am attacking unless identifying him by name constitutes an attack. I respond to his arguments and question his claims and at times provide data that contrast with what he is selling. I don't see that as attacking. I will vigorously challenge hi. On the merits. I doubt you would say that his posts, both in volume and content, are not vigorous.
I also have no doubts about who is posting. I would not identify him if I was not 100 per cent sure that at least 80 per cent of the posts are his that I cite. Either that or there is a freakish statistical anomaly of galactic proportions, given the same interests, same biases, exact same doggedness and rigidity, and exact same obvious phraseologies. Sorry, too many coincidences for me, and for almost anyone here who has half a brain. This isn't in the genre of "Thanks Fred...Thanks Mom...Thanks BB," etc, etc.

Let's assume you are correct. What, then, do you think of the person's arguments that I have said are btdt? Let's say you are correct. What do you make of the posts themselves?

5- The idea that the club deserves more credit for a player earning a soccer scholarship than the player themselves. The claim that obviously is being made is the Scorpions created the player's success and can replicate that success for another player.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThis is all deflection. It seems that whenever the argument starts to paint any of the ECNL dogma in an unfavorable light that we have to distract everyone with a buch of mindless allegations. The issue that is being deflected is the one about using commitment lists to market the club's brand. If you will go back to the intitial post, you will see that one of the intitial points being made was specifically about using commitments to market the club brand. Here it is:
This most recent discussion was right on line with that original point. The point that was just in the process of being made was that when you put individual player's accomplishments on display it invites just as much negative attention as positive. The nastiness that has spread into this thread all but confirms that but instead of simply acknowledging that commitments might not be the greatest thing since sliced bread we take the thread off on a tanget and try to pretend the point wasn't made. That just invites more unpleasantness.
Distorts how the whole thread started.
And you will see that no one ever made those claims, except for certain people in setting up their straw men to attack. In fact, each time a poster concedes that the players do deserve credit and might have reached the same success in a myriad of ways (see discussion recently on RI player), the question the attackers were asked to explain why these players who clearly are not players easily duped land with Stars and Scorps anyway. You all like the poster I'm now responding to would have a lot more credibility if your hatred for these clubs wasn't so glaringly obvious and you gave them a little credit for even attracting good players. But instead, you distort even more, and go off on tangents about how so few are going to good schools anyway. You actually end up dissing the players you said deserve all the credit!!! You simply trample the data and change directions any way you want and that's partly why it is completely fair to challenge btdt.

You conveniently ignore the poster who repeatedly accused anyone that is recruited at games as violating NCAA rules and participating in illegality. He just kept calling posters liars and announcing illegality based on what he thought should be illegal. If this idiot hadn't brought up BTDT maybe that guy would have had to face the music. Now he'll wait for a week and begin his claims again.
P.S. If he knows CH he should ask him about this stuff.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostI'm sorry, especially as if you are a Stars parent as you say which I doubt, but I do not agree with you.
The anonymity thing is not the same. You are talking about someone who specifically decided not to be anonymous, at least in part to provide some clout to his own views. Also very narcissistic and as a result has been more than willing to put himself and his kids out there for public consumption. No other celebrity person and/or parent of a national player would do that. His lack of anonymity was not courage but rather entirely strategic and narcissistic. He has been a prolific poster who has not shied away from any engagements, and indeed he has seemed to prefer conflict and disagreements as opportunities to impress his views on others even more fervently.
Virulent is a word that comes to mind. Right now it is about Stars and to lesser degree Scorps. BU there have been any number of topics, as wide ranging a s 3.0s at Williams being crap to marginal, below par skills of Jeremy Lin. He is always the expert, never comes back and says he was wrong about anything, and given the forcefulness and extremity of his views that he rams down everyone's throats I believe he deserves to be called out. I am not a Stars parent or supporter not a Scorps parent or supporter. I simply find his behavior outrageous and intrusive, and I don't think gross, repetitive, and dogged attacks in one's own self-interest should be simply ignored.

It wasn't a slam at the Stars or Scorpions per see as much as a commentary on the whole recruiting process. The problem is those two clubs put so much emphasis on recruiting that merely objecting to the process is now apparently construed as a slam against the clubs.
"That is why it is so irksome when the clubs parade out a list of commitments. If you have been through it you know they are selling something they had very little involvement in." Given the context of the thread to that point I think that it is pretty clear who he is talking about, especially since later likely the same poster suggested NEFC advertises entirely different, "process" I believe, when it's very clear that every club advertises what it can.

I have no idea who you are or what club you are actually affiliated with but you seem to be even more prolific and virulent than what you claim BTDT to be. I think what you are doing is projecting that others post as much as you and he is just a convenient identity to pin it all on. Personally I find many of the posts that I attribute to you to be mean spirited and completely one sided. I have answered you on several occassions myself but you have always discounted those replies by painting them as a biased slam. Perhaps if you recognized that he is not the only one with an opinion that might help you come to grips with the notion that the "dogged attacks" you are fighting are merely differences of opinion.
