Originally posted by Unregistered View Posta little coaching would go along way, when your playing a weaker opponent i would like to see the coach change up players or even work on controlling the ball not just kick & chase . throwing the older kids up front to get them some goals is not helping the team get better. Also allowing one of the seniors to reclessly take shots in the hopes she reaches the 100 goal mark is a sad display

It is just that if you are playing on a tiny crappy field with players that can't play at the same level, you are never going to play like you can. It is difficult to play your game.
Couldnt agree more! Very easy to get frustrated.

When I started focusing on her, it is obvious that she is a solid player, but it wasn't like...wow who is that player...which is what I would have expected. Again, nothing against her.

But more club players isn't necessarily the answer. I have seen a high school team underperform because of the lack of chemistry or rivalry or whatever it was between club players. The play wasn't always unselfish.
