Cuz if you put enough monkeys in a room full of footballers, you eventually get Alex Ferguson.

Stick around and see this year. The sox are out but HS soccer is underway and GD is unbeaten and untied. Who you got, Nipmuc I would guess?

This year Nipmuc outplayed them and lost 3-2 when the 4ft tall kid hit a floater from 25 yds that the goalie misread and any youth goalie would have caught so don't get your hopes up. The cmass newcomer Tyngsboro will win Div 3 this year, they are 8-0.
Bromfield 2 Tyngsboro 1 You obviously don't much about this part of MA. Stick with your folks (e.g. Sutton/Douglas/etc.)

Sorry but if The Gonk was that good, they would have had more players playing beyond high school.

Did it ever occur to you that many go to college for an education and life is not all about soccer? Imagine that???

Imagine that PLAYING OCCER ACTUALLY WILL END AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE AN EDUCATION WITH A JOB

Not for the Gonk kids, mommy and daddy can pay for their way through life.

That is also a weak arguement as to why not many of them play in college. Simple fact is they are not all that great.

The ignorance of the above posters in incredible. Go to ESPN and check the top ranked team in the country. Guess how many D1 commits they have. Two. But no that means that they are bad... come on people act like adults and use some logic. Teams win games because they play like a team. If this wasn't the case then maybe Leominster would have beaten Gonk in the CMASS final last year. I'm sure that they had more skilled players but they don't play like a team. Many of the kids that are on the Algonquin team have been playing fall, winter and spring soccer together since they were 8 or 9. They are good because they know each other and play like a team, not because they have the most D1 commits.

I understand your point. Algonquin produces a lot of good, not great soccer players. That wins Cmass championships. I see three players on ESPN from MA with Div 1 commits, from Southboro, N Andover, and Attleboro. That sounds like 1 commit for you. Who is #2? JS? Haven't seen anything on that yet.

It is not all about D1, D2, D3. My point is how many actually even play in college, regardless of Division level.

I've noticed that when St Johns loses, there is never a report in the paper. That makes the last 3 games, except for their win over Holy Name. What gives?

Usually the home team calls in the result. Sometimes both do. A good amount of these coaches never report the results.

Im talking about the top team in the nation, not algonquin. Only 2 D1 commits. Yes Algonquin only has 1 but thats the point. It doesnt matter how good one player is but the team as a whole, which includes all 24 or however many players.
