One thing that I know is that most coaches do lose their cool a few times in their coaching career... happens to all of us. Is it right? No. Are we proud of it? Typically not. That said we all understand that it happens and hopefully we all learn from our mistakes. Before many of you go off bashing the guy though you might want to consider that not all arguing with referees is necessarily bad. Take an example like the U13 Stars coach from this weekend down at PDA. As I understand it he got heaved for objecting too hard after one of his girls got pulled down by her pony tail and another got a concussion. I know as a player and parent I always appreciated when one of my coaches went to "bat" for me or my kid with an official. We all know that somewhere someone is ripping the Stars coach for his behavior yet in my book in a lot of ways he did the right thing. Just trying to point out that this sort of topic is not always as black and white as some others might like to paint it.

NEP zero tolerance
13. Support for Referees (Zero Tolerance Policy)
*
It is expected that every person responsible for a team and each and every spectator and player will support the referee. This support is essential to the proper play of the game and to the development of our players.*Failure to support the referees, especially by the person (s) responsible for the team, undermines the authority of the referee, sets a bad example for everyone else, especially the players, and can rapidly lead into a hostile, negative game environment which is entirely inconsistent with the sportsmanship goals NEP is trying to promote. *Therefore, the basic rule is that spectators will not address the referee at all during the play of the game. This prohibition, its exceptions, and the penalties for violating it, are described below.
*
Good luck Nick. I'm sure you'll adapt fine since it wasn't your fault right?

Wow first time anyone mentioned an apology. Was that during recess today or did someone make him send out an email? According to nefc parents it was all justified so no apology was required. Some people complain about the bashing however on two occasions nefc coaches have been confronted with their behavior and in the first case apologized publicly on here and to my recollection it's over and forgotten. Nefc parents should be grateful if the spotlight cast on these coaches help them become better role models and representatives of your club

I think personal feelings are getting in the way here.
If he felt the game was dangerous he could have taken his team off the field and taken a loss, same thing with the PDA example. But to those coaches it isn't about safety of the players, it is about winning and losing, that is why they did not pull their teams. I have refused to play on a field because I felt it was dangerous and the ref did not. I have never had a ref so bad I felt my players were in danger (parents thought otherwise.) although I am sure it happens.
A sit down with the parents is a must to keep them from being disrespectful to the refs especially at U11.

I find it amusing that in the span of 2 weeks there has been two incidents of let's say overzealousness from nefc coaches yet it is always someone else's fault and generally considered no big deal. It seems there is an atmosphere where coaches feel that the end result is all that matters and the journey there is secondary. I hope that they realize at this young age they should be setting the example for how they want their team to act. Hopefully this is true with all clubs not just nefc

All is good clubs are moving to NEP. That says it all.
Agreed this will not happen in NEP the former Maple teams will beat the crappy NEP teams 20-0 and there will be no need to fight with the refs.

Good luck to SSS!! I used to like the club and the U11 guy. I've been on here for quite a while and not once have I seen an NEFC parent bash SSS, but there is plenty of it coming from SSS parents. You guys are doing your club proud and it just shows how classless you really are. You are great role models for your kids.
I challenge anyone to read the posts throughout TS and you realize how silly this post really is.

Just read the NEFC posters on ANY of the threads! Some of the NEFC parents live to discredit other teams, coaches and players. I believe most are in control as are the SSS parents. Many, however, are not. But to say that you haven't ever seen this. Comical.

No club ever has been more overhyped than NEFC. Let's remember. NEFC was conceived out of a merger with Puma. Yeah, you heard that right. Puma. Enough said. We're talking about the Trivalley Eagles joining up with Puma.
