    JS Pioneers

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
The big problem with the Pio's is the leadership. JS (chairman) turned almost the entire U14 second team playing D3 (will be playing U-15 in the spring) girls away from that club. Backyard dealings and getting his daughter on a team when others are clearly D1 players is what happened with this age group. His daughter is a town player at best but made the 1st team in that age group playing D1. They are getting their pay back now. Heard JS (coach of the U-14's soon to be U-15's) also lost some of his best players to SW. I guess, what comes around goes around. Too bad, that age group had enough talent to have 2 teams playing in Maple D1 and D2. They really messed that age group up and from what I am reading looks like many of the other age groups too.

Some of the Pio's club is run by parents. The Chairman has set an example at that club: Do what is best for you not the team. That is exactly what he did. He wanted his daughter on a team she does not belong on in order to be with her friends and screwed over an entire team that he was very coaching. Isn't that what is happening to the club now? Families are leaving because they have better options? So what is wrong with that?

my daughter was at tryouts and didnt make it, but we are ok with that. i think the reason this happened, is because these are the majority (not all) of the best players in that age group in western mass and they deserved those roster spots. give those kids credit where credit is due.

Stars and Stars West are clearly the best u12 rising to U13 girls teams, no other clubs will even come close to them now that WU and Pioneers lost 8 or more players to SW.

I beleive that all the comments on this site is basically just jealously on the part of the parents that could not just break the bonds and do what was best for their children like we did. This team was put together to win, win now and win big. It may take a little time to gell but when it does they will be talking about Stars West as the destination team in the U13 age group.

Destination team??? Never happen, just ask clubs like Aztec why they continually develop solid teams only to lose their best players to the Stars around U14. Stars main will never ever let you fulfill your dream and soon you will be running back with your tail tucked between your legs.

I actually disagree with this. NEFC will win this age group next year because they combined two top teams, JM and BM. Internally at this age group NEFC has enough to stay ahead of stars for a few years. The older age group was a different story since pioneers and western united had stronger teams at that age group.

Pioneers had nothing at the younger age group, so Stars West will have their work cut out for them.

It seems like you think the Stars team was unable to improve themselves in the tryout season, and so this new NEFC team will be going up against "just" the same Stars team (that has never lost to one of those NEFC teams, at least not in recent memory, and has handed them a few thrashings last year: JM 4-0, 4-1; BM 5-1, 4-0). Maybe you want to beat the Stars one time before proclaiming NEFC good enough to "stay ahead of Stars for a few years".

Should you even come close to the real Stars in State Cup they will offer your best few players spots on the big squad for next year and they will leave and break the bonds with you. Your kids will then know what it is like to have a bond broken. You can then explain to them about loyalty and when they want to go back to WU or Pioneers I hope they slam the door. You will be a good team, actually a top 4 team, but you have too many egos and too many expectations to be the destination team, your coach isn't equipped to manage these parents and these expectations.

Ask BTDT how that worked out for NEFC. Unless you are the real Stars you are never better than second best. Hope the Stars don't frown on your plan for world domination.

When comparing the core players of Stars and Stars West. Our core at Stars West is superior. The players brought from WU were better top to bottom than the the Stars players when we played in the Spring season when WU won and should have won big. The additions from Pioneers are solid pickups that push us over the top. This team will win states in their first year.

do not be so sure, those parent think their kids are better than everyone else. Thats why they chose their own team. Rl is just along for the ride. If you hear them talk they do believe they will win everything.

Hats off to RL for develping what appears to be a Western Mass powerhouse soccer team. Congrats to the girls who were selected; and to the parents who bellied up to the punch bowl and "drank the koolaid". Remember -everyone believed and loved Bernie Madoff.

When the roster is published everyone will realize that this was not a team built by skill but a team built by a couple of over the top soccer moms. It is not going to be the grat talented team that some people think. This team is going to turn into a running joke.
