There's alot of talk here about recruiting. I would like to suggest it isn't happening, not by RL. He's been around awhile so I would think he knows better. A parent can do whatever they want. Here is my experience with this whole situation. I heard about the trainings, so I went on the websight and signed my daughter up. Not going to get into why. There is a new club in town. Some may not like it, but it is what it is. Just going to have to deal with it. While participating in the trainings, I asked if there would be a team for next year. I was told to check the websight and sign up for tryouts when announced if we wanted to. If there was enough interest, then there would be a team. I initiated the contact. So no recruitment there. This whole thing just sounds like alot of upset peolpe throwing out wild accusations cause they aren't happy with the way things are going. From the sounds of things now, I think it's better that some just go their own way.

Are you denying that kids have already been offered spots and that the roster is pretty much set. Your daughter definitely deserves to be left out of this, but I think its fair to ask these questions and get them out in the open and out of the rumor barrel.

"If a player initiates contact with a coach during regular season play, the coach must ask the player if they are committed to another NEP club. If so, then the player will be asked to inform their current club of their intent to try-out for another club before any further action may be taken. Players may not attend training sessions as a "guest" whilst playing for another NEP club. The League expectation is that clubs will communicate clearly and honorably through this process."
If WU pushes this, they will put NEP in a tough spot as there was a pretty clear violation of the letter and spirit of the rule. First chance that I know of to see if they will do as MAPLE did and let it slide or if they will force clubs to deal honorably with one another. I am sure the Scorps, NEFC and others will be watching.

Of course he knows how to play the game but he must not have looked at the NEP rules because he cannot do what he is doing without the approval of the clubs he is "training" players from. This rule is there to prevent people like RL from doing what he is doing which worked as a loop hole in MAPLE. Western will probably ignore it and nothing will come of it because they will claim to take the higher road.

Have you been offered a roster spot yet? If not, I hear from my friends out west that it is too late

It will be like a tree falling in the woods, but no one is there to hear it so it never happened. (no cell phones involved in dropping trees)
Remember NEFC is the only club to have it's top new coach suspended for a season for working in cahoots with CLUB PRESIDENT to steal players from Scorpions. Delayed in red tape by Head of Disiplinary board, until he stepped down, then even with NEFC coaches on the disciplinary board MAPLE had to suspend someone so BB got it. Since he was still coaching his teams in regional league it was really a ruse. BM and PM got a muligan.
So the story goes.!

In regards to roster spots being filled, i'm sure that you are just spreading rumor and rumors have a way of taking on a life of their own. Just listen to that, it's rediculous. I did not contact RL during the regular season. My daughter's team is a current MAPLE team. I am not committed to my current club. I refuse to inform my current coach. We will be leaving no matter what. Honestly, you make alot of assumptions and it just sounds like your issue is a little personal.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostNope, no issue with you at all. I expect parents to do what is best for their player. MAPLE clubs and players are OK, no problems. WU players however are a different situation entirely amd most of the previous posts were about WU and in that case RL's actions are clearly in violation of the NEP rules. Good luck with your decision and to your player. I will tell you that kids have definitely been offered spots and places filled.
