Pioneers and WU both have B teams who pay the bills. They can just move players up. Its all a business, and they don't give a crap about the kids as players, so why should anyone return any loyalty.

I've had kids play for both clubs, I wouldn't lump them together. Its not even debatable that one club is a well run, kid oriented and cares about developing players and playing good soccer while the other is basically a large extension of a town program with plenty of egos to keep it going and a win at all cost mentality.

I would agree with this assessment, but this doesn't change the fact that club soccer...any club...is a business, and come fall, both clubs will have enough bodies to fill out the roster.

That seesm to be where the momentum is heading out there. Anyone know how attendance at RL's "clinics" are going?

RL, Stars Affiliation and the fact that at U12/13 the grass is ALWAYS greener, especially when you have a bunch of first time parents who think their kids are better than they really are and are convinced they are D1 material. RL will play to their discontent, promise them whatever it takes, maybe even spots on the "real" Stars team when they get a bit older. Killing off the WU A team and parts of the Pioneer A team as he appears to be doing will be sweet revenge for him.

Bingo, you hit the nail on the head. Sad part (or not so sad) is that these are seasoned parents that are taking the bait. What comes around goes around.

when your child's foot skills are better in 3 weeks from training with RL than doing practice 2-3x week with Pioneers and WU- its a no brainer!!

Doubt it. If that was the case, you should be at the "Real" Stars camp, not the second best "West"

Don't know these parents, but you would think seasoned ones remember the bitter tastes of expensive cool-aid. Too bad as the WU coach seemed to be a reasonable person in the 4-5 games I watched them play in this Spring.

The Parents must have been very surprised when WU beat the real Stars a few weeks ago :-)

Once the rose coloured glasses are lifted, this comment will be exposed as rubbish. If it is really true, blame your child not the coach.

With both the Pioneers and WU? wow, that says alot. always looking for the next best thing down the road, or should I say next best thing down the pike? Wish you the best with RL, you will need it.

These type of parents will NEVER blame themselves or their child for anything. Should RL not win State Cup next year he will be the next sacrificial lamb for this perpetually disgruntled group of parents. Some will be on their 3 club in as many years, that says a lot.
