There is interest in having some options. How can't there be interest from some of these parents. Pioneers have not scored a goal this year and have sunk to the bottom of Blue were there will need to play themselves into the Irwin Cup. Just to many weak players over there that are kept around for no good reason. WU, despite a big win last week are seeing an exodus of top players. they may pull an upset once in a while but will not be able to sustain that level without top talent. Hustle can only get you so far. WU will probably go out next game and lose to a team they should beat. There needs to be changesout west and there will be or all teams will stay irrelevent.
Very sad to see 2 clubs coming apart in mid season and another club running regularly scheduled clinics to help draw them away. Wonder if any SDA players are going or if they will just replace the WU and Pioneer players who leave. Musical chairs on the Titanic if you ask me.

The talent exists in Central and Western Mass to compete with the best. There are plenty of very skilled HS and Prep school players to choose from. Unfortunately it's too diluted, with players that could put a team over the top driving east to Stars or South to CFC or Soccer Plus. If a team emerges from the current shake out that can attract the bulk of talent from the area, the West will rise again.

Our club is running a clinic this week to raise revenue and its nothing new. Clubs have to bring in money. If you were running a clinic and didn't take down contact info, lets be honest, parents would be pointing out a very skilled player and want him/her for their team too so its a bit disingenuous to complain about it. I'm not condoning it nor approving but there are much harsher things to worry about than a club running clinics. With the bad weather, whats wrong with three days of foot skills and keeping a ball on their feet? We're probably "jumping off the merry go round" after the spring season to move on to other things so I'm hardly recruiting for them, its just something the kid can benefit from (contrary to popular opinion on this site).

It may amaze some of you, but in most cases, none of us from out west really care what you think when it comes to making decisions for our kids. However, I will say this once again, I don't care what club logo my kid wears at this age, as long as she's getting great coaching, the rest will shake out when it really matters..after U13.
