Will it even matter which team crack top 4? With NEP for NEFC and Stars top 4 teams predicted won't be Maple next fall anyway. If not mistaken; even if the top 4 from Maple finish top 4 in state cup, will also give them the first 4 spots in Division 1 maple for fall U13.

If the rumors be true, the top NEFC teams and United teams of Stars going NEP; the next 4 teams at end of spring season U12 will fall in line for Division 1 Maple.

The spring season could prove very interesting and go in any direction depending how teams approach it. With nothing to lose you may see even more kick and run from western mass teams. WU proved to be true kick and run at tournament where the Pioneers were trying to play the right way but lack a wee bit of ability to do so. Newer teams just entering Blue for this spring will have to prove themselves now won't they. They should show well coming from quality clubs.

History shows the top teams in Maple at U14 go R1 or sub region and the ECNL clubs must be out of Maple as well by U15 or 16? So what is the real purpose this spring or U13 for that matter if all the top teams are not there anymore by that time.

Combined 0wins 2 losses and 4 draws isn't going to get it done.
Looks like BB's U11 Arsenal played up but not with the success they were used to? Maybe they need to head back to Arizona to play, clearly they got the jump on the competition and could have stayed much closer to home to get a decent match.

I think WU is headed to NEP too? That SDA team played in lowest 8v8 division and cleaned up with a 16-0 goal differential. Never saw them play, but doubt they are all that good either. Maybe they should combine all those western MA teams into 1 decent team. Stars west anyone?

I have to say NEFC is the best talent of the U12 and very strong. I guess some people on here really don't know what they're talking about. Oh well!!

Most disappointing team to watch for the weekend was Western United. Just hoofing it up the field with no real goal in mind. Very poorly coached team.

The two best 8 v 8 teams across both brackets were Seacoast and Soccer Domain. Tournament did a poor job of bracketing. MCU and Grasshoppers didn't belong in the top group. It would have been nice to see Seacoast play the Soccer Domain team.

Yes some very interesting bracketing. Researching that Seacoast team we had never seen I saw that SDA beat both the NEFC and Seacoast teams in NEP both in the higher bracket, but ended up placed in the lower bracket? 16-0 GD tells the story.

I thought this team was coming on, but after seeing them play parts of 2 games this weekend, I agree, very little imagination and they try to play very direct, but don't have the personnel to do it. That is a bad combo and doesn't bode well for the future.

The talent level and coaching is just very weak in the west. WU looking lost and Pioneers with just 1 goal all weekend. Not impressed. Something needs to change.

The best coached teams out there always seem to be the SDA teams but I guess being way out in Pittsfield makes it impossible for them to get enough quality players and compete at a high level because they never seem to be able to get out of the lower MAPLE divisions.

Wouldn't happen to be a club board member or someone who has a financial stake in a club and wants to merge with WU within say a year or so....

Being a parent whose child played against the SDA team this weekend, I agree they were in the wrong bracket. To say that they were'nt all that good was a misconception. Their girls were strong and skilled and deserved to be in a higher bracket. JMHO
